love this remote
I would recommend getting the remote antenna if you have a stand and fill. the lower the antenna the harder it is to connect with remote. works well when deer want to leave giving an extra shot of corn keeps them around or brings them in

I Was ready to throw this thing away!
My experience is that The Remote does not work as stated in all conditions. It seems to depend on what kind of feeder it is installed on. I have after much diagnosing, trying different things and compiling information of how to get one feeder working and then move onto the next feeder and diagnose / use data gathered from previous repairs etc. I have several All Season feeders and some other shop built ground fill feeders. The All season stand and fill feeders that have the metal corn drop shield underneath the feeder motor do not facilitate installing the receiver unit as specified due to interference between the feeder unit and shield. So I tried drilling a hole in the side of the feeder box and putting the antenna out the side of the box. This does not work, at leas past 30 yards or so. So I tried drilling a hole in the plate lined up with the center of the feeder box and installing the antenna down like stated in the instructions and put the antenna through the hole in the shield . This for some reason worked for one week and then quit (this feeder is only 69 yrds from the blind). I am still scratching my head on that one, anyways. So reading on the product information is stated that the remote receiver unit is weather resistant. So I moved the unit outside utilizing the hole in the bottom of the feeder box to run the wires through where the antenna stuck out before. Then I ended up taping the receiver unit to the outside of the feeder box with some heavy duty gorilla tape (I know this is not preferred for long term and a fastener through the feeder box will be employed in the future). THIS WORKED! not by much, but it worked. I have to hold it arms length outside the window of the blind at 79 yards (rolleyes). On my other feeders, like the ground fill ones that also have a metal shield on the bottom of the feeder units to slide the corn that drops down out from under the feeder, I installed like stated in the instructions. Out the bottom of the feeder box, the metal plate is 6-8 inches below the antenna tip, no where near the antenna. This blind is 67 yrds, This did not work or at least past 30 yards or so. So I did the same procedure listed above on this one and it works, there again, not by much, but it works. Now on the Regular stand and fill all season feeder we have that just has a metal mesh underneath the feeder box, not a solid metal plate, I installed the remote receiver unit as instructed in the manual with the antenna down and in the middle of the feeder box and it works on a feeder that is 103 yards.... So I am surmising the metal plate under the feeders is messing with the signal from the remote control. There is not any support for this product that I could find, I tried to contact the seller I purchased through and all they wanted to do was give a refund, not help find a solution to the problems. I was ready to give up on this product and did hours and hours of internet research for information to help fix the issues. . I even looked for another option for a feeder remote and there weren't any out there that i could find that were affordable. So this drove my heal to get this figured out and fixed. Just my .02 worth. Hope this helps some of the other people out there that were as frustrated as I was!

Excellent quality remote.
Very high quality unit that matches up perfectly with the timer. I have mine working consistently at my 85 yard blind, but not sure it will work at my 125 yard setup.

remote signal distsnce
I had my antenna inside the varmint cage of a all season stand and fill because the wires were too short I extended all the wires out 3 feet and mounted on the outside a hopper and this gave me my hundred yard remote distance Works good now I read online that varmint cages will make the remote loose good signal

My favorite new gadget!
This thing is probably the best hunting investment I have made in years. It works like a dream every time I need it.The installation instruction are clearly written and easy to follow. If you already own The Timer, installation is as simple as it gets. No splicing needed. Drill hole in bottom of feeder housing. Insert antenna thru hole and screw the retaining nut on from outside. Plug signal leads into The Timer harness between The Timer and the motor (all color coded). Clip power leads onto battery terminals. Install supplied battery into remote and you are ready to sling feed! It literally took me about 2 minutes to install it.If you like the idea of having the ability to throw feed whenever you want (not just the programmed feedings), buy this little gem. You won't regret it.

The Good The Bad The Ugly
The Good, i have eight of these now and these are the best i have used. Easy to install and usually work fine. The Bad, they rarely work out passed 50 yds. Occasionally one will work out to 100 but on any given day the range will be in the 40-75 yd range. Occasionally a rodent will chew up an antenna i was able to find a direct fit replacement made from metal on Amazon that fixes that problem. The Ugly is the transmitters seem to stop working for no reason. Of the eight i have only four still work after three years. Two of them quit working after a couple of months during a hunt. Ugly.

It works great and got me a nice 10 point.
This thing is perfect. I am using it in conjunction with “The Timer” and an All Seasons 600 lb stand and fill broadcast feeder. The feeder is about 100 yards from the blind and it works great. I had a 10 point at the feeder on opening morning. He ran off after getting spooked and I used the remote to set off the feeder. The feeder throw brought him back in and I was able to harvest a big boy. All thanks to this remote. I can’t recommend it enough.
