Value for money for the device specifications.
This item is very useful for those who want to watch Freeview TV and Freesat channels n those in other satellite channels if they are within the satellite dish angles of coverage. In my case I wish it could also record the programs on a suitable USB-sticks as it says possible in the specification. Unfortunately it is not possible on mine. I managed to get it on a recording mode but the recordings made on my USB-stick would not be able to be played on this device or other devices including lap top.

Works well but poor user manual
The unit itself is fine and connected to both Terrestrial and Satellite without a problem. The remote is a bit sensitive but works ok. The user interface is a bit cluttered but does the job. My main criticism is the lack of and incorrect information in the supplied manual. For example on the page that describes the function on the remote it includes the text for a button marked SAT which actually doesn't exist and access to the different screens that are available are not described and it took some time to find these. Still not sure whether I have discovered them all. Overall it works and is, in my opinion good value for money but with the caveat about the manual.

A rain knock off reception permanently.
Is fairly easy to install, but takes 4 searching attempts to get on HOTBIRD channels I want. In manual there are just basic information, not all correct. I had to work out myself by trying and error what to do. Definitely "sticky" remote buttons. When is raining it loosing reception. That's quite common with all boxes, but in this one when rain stops, reception is not coming back. Every time after rain I had to flick channels back and forth to get the picture back. After 2 weeks of that, BOX lost reception permanently that even switching channels did not cure. I returned for a refund. Recording on memory stick is O.K. but after loosing signals in rain all marking for recording on EPG are erased. Frustrating. Because of rain I never find out how weekly recording works. After every rain (every day in November!) I had to start EPG marking afresh.

Good value for money... but be aware that this is a VERY limited box (Review from ROI)
Takes a while and is definitely NOT plug-n-play.If you are willing to read the instructions and play around with settings this is a FANTASTIC little box that does what it says in a barebones manner.I have an issue with "remote control lag" but the problem is not the remote, it is the box.*** EDIT - 12th Nov. *** The problem is also the remote control, it has a problem "like" the infamous "sticky button" issue (it is not old so it is not THE sticky button issue). Press once and you might jump 3 channels or NOT... sticky button+STU OS are the problem.*** End of EDIT ***Sometimes (not always) you press a button and nothing happens and you press it again only to see the screen flash up/down.The box is LAGGING, at times, and I'm going to "guess" this is a H/W issue and that it would need more RAM (possibly ROM also) to resolve. Less RAM/ROM makes a CHEAPER box.*** EDIT 12th Nov. *** Do NOT even try to record single/mutilple programs via EPG from DVB-S2 (SAT). Does NOT work at all. The DVB-T2 with a proper EPG (i.e. more than 2 hours ahead) has more success.EMPHASIS: Do NOT expect to RECORD ANYTHING on any size USB stick and you will not be disappointed!*** END of EDIT ****NB: RECORDING is NOT a primary feature of this box.I attached a 2TB HDD (2 partitions), FAT32 for PVR works. However, I will note that this there are delays and missed recordings and non-playback and failed [storage devce] and [insert more of the ERROR messages here]. I have also attached a 16GB USB Stick and had the same success/failures.1. It can only record 1 channel at a time.2. You can watch same frequency while recording a SAT channel AND/OR the DVT channels.3. Some channels [e.g. DAVE] will NOT record sound while [PAUSED]/[RECORD]. Perfect picture and no sound and this is due to [DAVE] as far as I can tell. FreeSat [DAVE] wants to make sure you watch the advertisements.3.1 NB: The [DAVE] "no aduio" issue really REALLY annoys me but it is [DAVE] that is at fault NOT this box.4. EPG will show 2hours ahead for SAT and 7 days for DVT so you can only setup recordings to match. It is a PAIN!!!5. My box does NOT match instructions on DELETING recordings/files. There is no menu option where the instructions say [Go here] and the [picture] shows an [icon] that does NOT exist, at least on my S/W version [IM_SDK_V2.0]-[Build Date=15th December 2020. No WiFi either so S/W update is not [press here].Have to do via PC and (I believe) this is what causes the missed/failed recordings.*** Edited by Jon on 7th Nov. 2021 ****I have done some further [RECORD/PAUSE] testing and I have nearly 100% success on 16GB USB stick while nearly 100% falure on 1TB HDD Partition. Delete as per manual is NOT an option on either.I am going to buy a [cheap: ~€12] 128GB USB Stick and do some more testing. It may work BUT this Box, no matter how well [Record/Pause] works, will only record 1 SAT channel at a time.*** END of... Edited by Jon on 7th Nov. 2021 ****BREAK did some investigaton.... I am not testing a 128GB, I have a 64GB and, well read on...*** Edited by Jon on 8th Nov. 2021 ****Found a 64GB USB stick. I now havev an "OPINION" on what the issue is. 1. The 64GB works perfectly, as I'm sure a 128GB or even a 256GB USB STICK would work.2. I do NOT KNOW this but an external SSD powered by STU MAY (UNTESTED, I Do NOT KNOW) work. All of the above: 1 & 2 (& 7th Nov.) are all related. The problem is not the size of the HDD, i.e. 16GB->2TB, the problem is that MY large storage media are ALL HDD which means, even though powered by STU and "always-on" it is NOT always on). The spin UP/DOWN is not handled well (at all) by this STU.Basically, I "believe" due to a h/w & s/w combined issue (probably) in the memroy/bus/read/write the STU is simply NOT capable of writing OR reading from a HARD DD (which is why I said earlier a SSD MAY work but I am NOT guaranteeing ANYTHING. Test at your own risk!!!As an aside, this box will NOT playback anything except a specific type of MP4 file from the USB stick OR the recordings you have made on said stick.*** END of... Edited by Jon on 8th Nov. 2021 ****It also improved my (indoor-aerial) FreeView reception NOTICEABLY... but it is still an indoor SaorView aerial and in ROI that means distance/direction/WEATHER are huge factors in getting a good reception on Saorview. Still it DID make a noticeable improvement and the box is NOT the problem.I have no idea, at this time, if I will stick with this box or try something else (I'm thinking of an Android TV STU that is also a FreeView/FreeSat COMBO). I have a seperate Android TV STU box at this time which is why I did not choose the Android COMBO first, wanted to see a dedicated system. The OS, S/W and H/W are not the best on this box but you get what you pay for.My opinoin may change over time BUT for the money this cost I would say this is GOOD VALUE and would recommend for someone with time and a bit of knowledge and doesn't mind "playing around with tech".FINAL THOUGHTS. I like this unit but the limitiations on recording/watching multiple programs is not good enough for my requirements. So, see below for my plans (I'm not in a hurry) this is all fun for me.8th Nov... This will eventually become a backup combo STU. And my current Android STU will be used as a backup also becuase...I am now leaning heavily towards FINDING a Combo FreeView/FreeSat (internal or external recording) STU that runs on a recent Android version, is , and connect via WiFi for missing programs using the App Store (e.g. Amazon Prime Video). I am going to TRY and find one that has 2 x DVB-S2 (DUAL SAT LNB) + 1 x DVB-T2 so I can record one program and watch a COMPLETELY unrelated program at the same time, i.e. not on same channel/band.Also, I am going to look for an Android that has native H265 Video Compression. This might not seem important to anyone that is not a techie and you CAN live without it (H264) is perfectly fine but it is being replaced. So H265, MKV, MP4, AVI, MP3 as a minimum for file playback (not recorded on STU).

Cheap but not that user friendly
I bought this as a replacement for my Humax Freesat recorder as the Freesat Box is well over £200. It receives Satellite and terrestrial channels ok but the amount of effort required to get your favourites lined up in any order, drove me to distraction. Also whereas BBC defines its regional services in the channel name, ITV does not so a real chore diffeentiating Anglia from Central for example. So, not simple enough to set up without a proper Freesat/ Freeview epg. Its good if you want to peruse various satellite channels but I cant recommend it for mainstream use. Price is its biggest plus point. Remote is tedious to use. The recorder and timeshift worked but quite an effort and menu presses to get to the recording. You get what you pay for. Id like to see some effort put in to organise sensible channel sort. The manual is dreadful. A toy for the inquisitive

Reliable and great price
Use this for Freesat after my previous Goodmans box broke. This is easy to use after a brief confusion at the beginning. It's never broken down in any way and had it about 18 months. Brilliant for the price. It records brilliantly too via a memory stick into the front of the box.

Easy to use but it is NOT a 'FreeSat' device.
This set-top-box is easy to set up and to use. It finds all the channels available either for 'pay-for-view' or 'free-to-air'. The user interface is fairly easy to understand and to follow, though you really do need to read the manual before you begin to get the best out of the unit. It allows you to delete duplicate channels easily but you cannot change the order of the channels so it is a little awkward to navigate. While it picks up all the channels available on FreeSat, it is NOT a FreeSat box. My main complaint is the external USB fob menu for recording programmes or using the time-slip feature. I can not imagine a more complicated method of working than the one IView have used here. Truly awful!
