So far very pleased
I got this primarily for slicing home made bacon but have used it for many other things. Sliced deli meats and cheeses as well. It works well and is quiet compared to the other one I bought and sent back because of the noise and less than acceptable cuts. There is no comparison between this one and the $80 ones you see all over the place. I didn't want to spend the $ but I'm glad I did because of the build quality and ruggedness. You can slice through product quickly once you get the hang of it.Most important, be careful of the blade when cleaning. Use more than extreme caution because it is really razor sharp. Cut proof gloves highly recommended when cleaning. The clean up and disassembly isn't terrible and once you do it a few times it goes pretty quick. Just be careful of the blade. The blade has three hex screws that hold it in place and I strongly suggest you get a 3.5mm t handle hex wrench to remove the blade. The wrench that comes with it is just an L wrench and you could slip because there is no leverage. In summation, not a bad appliance so far and hope to get years of service out of it. Btw, it is a heavy machine and you will need some muscle to move it but I would expect that on something built at this level. Very sturdy.

Very Nice Slicer. Great for my pit beef and onions.
Just purchased it. It is a bit large but that is what I wanted. It appears built well. It is heavy, but unless you're a complete wimp you should be able to move it with just one person. Can't believe people say it requires 2 people to carry it. I had to make a small adjustment to the back plate because it was touching the blade when completely closed. Took 5 minutes with a 13mm wrench (simple). Sliced a smoked eye round roast for pit beef sandwiches and an onion. It worked beautifully. Cleaning is not that bad. The guide that holds the object your slicing comes off very easily for cleaning. Blade is easy to clean but be very careful because it is sharp. The rest is easily wiped down. I went with this slicer which cost a little more because I've used other slicers that friends have had and they were pretty crappy. This is pretty darn nice. ****Recommend****

Great machine
Very well made. Smooth operation. Extremely sharp blade cut through a baked ham like butter. Cuts very thin slices without tearing the meat apart. The downside is that it is very heavy and very large. Cleaning it is a bit cumbersome, but easy to take apart. Be extremely careful handling the blade, it is razor sharp. I would say it is worth the price if you have ever owned an inexpensive one and found it to be a chore to get meat sliced.

Easily the best kitchen gadget that I've bought
I've wanted a slicer for a long time, but have been gifted or otherwise used cheaper home-use slicers and they've always been horrible to use. I did the research and this kept popping up. So after a little bit of saving and a little bit of convincing myself I went ahead and got it.Received it today. Well packed, but mostly fully assembled (just had to attach one of the guards) Was able to clean it with the instructions provided and got it setup on my counter. I had planned around this coming, so I had a roast beef waiting to be sliced. All motions on this are buttery smooth. The motor does make sound, but it's not what I would consider loud. A far cry quieter than the stand mixer, if I'm being honest. Now for the slicing; it must be a Midwest thing but I love super thin sliced meats, almost but not shaved. This thing rocked like a champ at that. It does have a zero setting and goes all the way up to 12. These are not locked in settings (they dont click into place, you can dial in precisely where you want), you can adjust and go anywhere the blade will cut. The setting was very good at staying put and just rocked through the 3lb roast beef in just a few minutes. Perfectly thin sliced at not quite the half mark between 0 and 1 on the thickness dial. Paper thin and oh so stack-able on a sandwich.Cleanup wasn't as straight forward as I was anticipating, but after reading the directions it was simple enough. I was able to ensure that no crumbs or debris was left anywhere on or in the machine and it was completely cleaned and wiped down within about 5 minutes. The only downside that I can mention on this was the width of the food tray. It's plenty long so I can slice meatloaf lengthwise from my loaf pan, but how deep the tray goes is a bit limiting. I had to cut the 3lb roast down in order for it to fit within the food guide. There is a grip that can come down, but because of the high angle, it made it awkward to push it along for the slices. I dont really consider this too much of a downside as it is intended to be for home use, and if it were bigger, it'd be a bit more of a pain to store when not in use.Final downside is this thing is big. It wont fit in most of my cabinets nor will it fit in my walk in pantry without going to a top shelf, which is about head height. It will fit in one of my cabinets as long as I'm willing to sacrifice ease of accessing anything behind it. That said, It will likely live on the counter in a corner out of the way of normal food prep areas. Now, advice; if you're planning on doing a lot of slicing, this is definitely the slicer you want. If you're planning on slicing once or twice a season (or year) this is a hefty investment not only in money but space. I specifically got this because I do make my own lunch meats and cheeses so the slicer was just a next step in that direction.I should also note, i kind of consider this a kitchen gadget. It does one thing, it does it well, but there's no crossover. My stand mixer does all sorts of things for me from baking to cooking to candymaking, and even meat processing (with attachments) This will pretty much just slice meats and cheeses.Bottom line, I do highly recommend this slicer if you're in the market for one. Buttery smooth operation, nearly effortless slicing, and this thing just keeps on rocking.I'll come back and update after a year of planned moderate to heavy use to see how it holds up.
