K&NRK-3910-1 Filter Kit for Harley Davidson

I just had to order another K&N filter kit. I had the original one just over 2 years (March 2016) and when I was doing maintenance on my bike I noticed that the holes that bolt to the throttle body were cracked and broken loose from the backing plate so I have to replace it. It is a pretty poor design and I am sure K&N could of added a little more material in that area to keep the backing plate from breaking. The second thing is the filter gets stuck to the backing plate and I had to use a gasket scraper between the plate and filter to get it to come loose, this is the second time it stuck since I installed it. The only reason I am purchasing another kit from K&N is the bike was Dynoed with this set up and I didn't want to have to get it done again. I may look at other air filter options in the future.

I agree with one of the reviewers, it makes the breather wider about an inch. This actually makes my right crotch muscles a bit sore because they are used to hold my legs in. I can get used to it, but I'll be changing to a different one so that its less obstructive to my right knee. It's a very minor problem, but enough so that I can notice my crotch muscles are being used to hold my knee in...Other than that, i love the OEM look.Power wise... not sure if it makes a difference. I put on the thundermax, header, and breather all in one go right when I got the bike.

Recieved the kit and was impressed with the packaging and design of the kit. Installation was easy, however the supplied thread lock compound was poor quality. Within 1 day the bolts to the standoffs were loose. Took the whole kit off and found the bolts that went into heads were also loose. Cleaned off all of the old thread locker and applied Loctite Blue thread lock, 30 days later and nothing has loosened up. Great product but they should not have cheaped out on the thread locker

Ok, this is a very high quality part. K&N stuff is very nice. The reason I only gave it Four stars was because itdidn't add a single oz. of torque on the dyno. I tested it on a slightly modified TC 88 SoftTail. So, take that forwhat it's worth. K&N makes very nice stuff, just don't expect any performance increases.

Love K&N products. This fit well and would have gotten a 5 star rating, but it had no spacers in the kit for the oil ports. The instructions say you may have to use said spacers due to differences in the bikes, but none were provided. I made my own. Otherwise it's awesome and fit good with the stock air cleaner cover.

Be careful with the back plate! It is very brittle I cracked the screw holes on installation with minimal tightening. Otherwise went on easy as expected and gives more airflow while maintaining my factory cover and anniversary plate.

I installed this on an 07 street glide. It definitely made a noticeable difference. The directions are pretty poor but it's pretty EZ to install. It does make ur air cleaner wider by about 1/2-3/4" so it may rub against ur knee. It doesn't bother me though.

Habe am Samstag dieses Kit an meiner 2007 er 96CI Heritage verbaut und sofort bemerkt das im unteren Drehzahlbereich deutlich mehr Leistung vorhanden ist. Einziges Manko ist die englische Einbauanleitung.

better then stage one screamin eagle. the trotthe responce is realy good and a had issuer with my valve when i requierd power. i only had to buy two original screw where the air filter hold to the head. For the price, nothing compare. Softail 2002
