Good belt - general review, comparison to slidebelt & tip on picking the right shade of brown
I like the belt. I've worn it most days for a few weeks and it seems like it will wear well. If it doesn't, I'll update my review. The belt has a nice feel to it - I think it is two full leather straps with something else in the middle for support, and the buckle works really nicely to give a comfortable fit. At 1-1/2", mission belts seem to be the widest of this type of belt out there, and while that is narrower than I prefer for a casual belt, that width can work for casual and formal settings. Competitors are even narrower - too narrow for casual wear.I tried 2 competitor belts - slidebelt and fire kiln (or something similar to that). The slidebelt is a ratchet system where you pull open on the actual buckle instead of a little tab just below the buckle. The slidebelt Buckle system seems "cooler" - it's sleeker, but I think that feeling is mainly in my head, as no one sees the little tab on the mission belt. Visually and as far as how well they work, it is probably the same. The slidebelt ratchet is held closed with a spring, while the mission belt uses a magnet. Maybe the mission belt system is sturdier, but both buckles will probably last a long time. The mission belts are offered in two widths, which was the difference-maker for me -ultimately, I returned the slidebelt because it was just too narrow for casual wear. The slidebelt comes in 3 varieties of leather. I got the lowest quality of slidebelt leather, which made the price within a few dollars of the mission belt. The leather quality of this slidebelt and the mission belt seemed the same - not a high quality leather, but sufficient. one of my 2 mission belt buckles is matte black, as was the slidebelt buckle I tested. Both looked really nice. The fire kiln brand I tried uses the same type of buckle as the mission belt and my initial reaction was that the buckle was the the same, but the belt was such a terrible, bendy plastic that I didn't really focus on the buckle. The strap was also too narrow (like the slidebelt). I gave that belt a poor review based solely on the strap, but when the company wrote me to explain that based on complaints, they revised their description so it no longer refers to the strap as being leather, I redid my review. If you don't care about the strap being leather and want a narrow belt, this brand may be more attractive since the buckle seems on par with mission, but the full belt is less money.if you're looking for a shade of brown, mission belt has more shades Than slidebelt. I had trouble finding the right one because the belts look different in the various, available pictures, so here's my tip for you with browns - based on my experience with the mocha, chocolate, and dark brown straps, the photos mission provides of the guy wearing the belt most accurately shows the color; the photos of the belt by itself are not as accurate for judging what the color will look like in real life.I bought the black with the iron buckle and the dark brown with a "swat black" buckle, which is more of a matte black. the buckles are interchangeable and I'm really happy with my choices. The look of the iron buckle is really cool for a casual look and is not nearly as rough as it looks in the photo. If there was a "formal to casual" scale where a shiny silver buckle is a "1" - most formal, and the buckle in the picture is a "10," then I'd say the real iron buckle is a Is definitely "casual only" but it looks really nice. It probably would be similar with the bronze buckle. The swat black can be used for either, formal or casual, so if you really want a single buckle that can work in all situations, swat black is probably the way to go. With both of these, the mission belt logo is either not visible or not noticeable. The black and dark brown belts look good with both buckles. I did not like the mocha or chocolate with the iron buckle, but they looked nice with the swat black.Mission belt customer service was nice and responsive. I Did experience "quality Control" problems. With the iron buckle had to order the belt 3 times to get a good buckle. The first 2 had weird discoloration on them. Customer service was helpful and would have sent a replacement, but it was faster to rebuy and return through Amazon. What I learned that both "problem" buckles were made in the single facility that stocks the Amazon warehouse in Hillsborough County, FL. The 3rd time I ordered the belt, I worked it to get one from a different facility. When I ordered a brown belt with swat blswat strap, I received a white belt with swat buckle one time and a cloth blue strap with a matte silver buckle another time. Fwiw, the silver buckle seemed nice, and could also work in casual and formal situations, but I do not think the cloth belt would be comfortable - it's a nice nylon (I think) material on the outside with a layer of plastic on the inside that I think would cause sweating and discomfort, but maybe it needs to be that way to support the ratchet system. If I were going to go with a nonleather casual belt, I'd probably take a closer look at Grip6.Overall, I like the width of the mission strap better than others I've seen and mission is like the quality of the leather as much or more than other ratchet belts I tried although it is definitely a lower quality leather than the regular belts I am used to. I expect the belt and buckle to wear well; I really like the look of the iron And swat black buckles; and customer service was very responsive and helpful.

It kept my pants up. What more can I ask?
This is an interesting review for me. I should start of by saying that I am going to list some negatives on this belt. HOWEVER, I still like it much more then the average belt. I saw it on SharkTank, and found myself thinking about it when I misplaced my other belt. So, I thought I would give it a try. Here's my feedbackLeather - The leather just feels alright to me. The true test for me will be how it ages and what it looks like in the future. However, the leather didn't have that kind of buttery, smooth texture from more expensive belts that I have bought, it had the more plasticy texture of cheaper belts. However, it doesn't look cheap.Logo - Honestly, I hate the logo. It's not appealing at all, and I hate that it's placed on every buckle. Fully ruins it for me. I ordered this specific model because the logo blends in the most. I am not someone who likes logo's on my clothing. This is actually the thing I dislike most about the belt, I wish the buckle was just plain.Size - The size was spot on for meMechanism - So, I wasn't really clear on how this belt would work. Essentially, on the back of the last 1/3rd of the belt, there is a small length of what is basically a track, that has grooves in it. The buckle has a mechanism that clicks into those grooves. In order to undo the belt, you slide a release, that lifts the mechanism out of the grooves. You sometimes have to tighten the belt a tiny bit before you loosen it so that the mechanism lifts out of the grooves. Overall, it becomes pretty intuitive, with the exception of:Undoing - I find that undoing the belt, even after I have worn it several times, can be a little unintuitive. It's a two step process. First, you slide the release, then you kind of squeeze it in and it will then loosen. The problem is, it's not intuitive to me which way to press the release. Not sure if it's supposed to, but I am able to push the release both towards myself and away. I wish they had designed it with a tactile clue as to which way to push, like a small raised piece at one of the ends."Attitude" - This is a funny one for me to classify. I am not personally knocking any points off the product for this, but I find the "attitude" of the instructions and website and things like that a little grating. I am sure it works for some people, for me I find it a little unappealing.Other - There is a little metal slide by the end of the buckle. I am not really sure why it is there, to be honest. I guess belts always have them, although on this belt it feels unneeded. I often find that when I am first putting the belt on, the tip misses that end, and I have to redo it. Not the end of the world, just a minor annoyance.Overall, I like this belt more then any other belt I have had. I feel like it will last a long time, AND I am happy that the holes do not betray me. It's also easy to get that perfect fit for right now (ie - loosen it a little bit inconspicuously after a big dinner). I have probably told everybody I meet when I am wearing the belt about it. I do feel like there is some room for improvement, as I outlined above. That's what is keeping it from 5 stars for me.*EDIT* - 6 months later I am still wearing this belt every day. Looking back, I am surprised I had issues with releasing the belt, now it seems like second nature. I am really happy with this product, and I am going to look into getting a black one one of these days.*EDIT 2* - Ok, here I am 1.5 years later. First off, the leather on the belt looks like it's brand new. I wear this belt almost every day, and the leather is impeccable. I think the leather is going to outlast the buckle. In fact, I know it's going to, because it already has. But, Mission Belt's customer service was impeccable. A quick email with a photo of the issue, and a new buckle was mailed that day.In the few days I was unable to wear the belt, I came to realize how much better this belt is then a traditional one. I tried to "click" my traditional one constantly to adjust it.Also, I had made an observation about the logo. I still don't love it, but when I compare the old buckle with the new one, they have done a few things to make it more subtle. First, they made it smaller. They also moved it off the main buckle and over to the side. Finally, it's stamped in instead of etched. All told, I am happy with those changes and consider them improvements.I have changed my initial rating from a 4 to a 5. Very happy with this belt.

Best belt I have ever owned.
I was buying 3-4 belts a year with other brands. This belt is a game changer. Perfect fit. Super durable. Once accidentally wore this belt swimming in the ocean. Still works great a year later. Back to buy a different design because this belt is amazing.

Nice belt, amazing customer service!
Just got this belt earlier this week and so far I'm very happy with the quality. Feels high quality, looks great, and the ratchet mechanism works smoothly/holds securely. Also comes in nice packaging (comes in a small box with personalized hand-written note) and was really impressed with their customer service!!My belt was expected a couple weeks back and before I could even notice/remember that it was coming in and had tracking, I received a message from their team saying that the tracking wasn't working and there might be an issue. As they suspected, we found out the item was marked as "returned to sender" for some reason (problem on the postal company side), but they were able to have it reshipped asap and I ended up receiving it the week after! Overall very impressed with their communication and customer service--something that could have been a nightmare ended up barely being a bump in the road..!As this was an expensive belt, I'm really hoping the quality lasts the test of time but will have to wait to find out. I'll try to make an edit in the future, but for now I'm very satisfied!Thank you :)

Well made....poorly held together..
The pins holding the buckle together can be unreliable & fall out...I gave it 3 stars because ultimately, it IS a good belt...great design. the only thing that let mine down was it was probably made on a Friday when the workers didn't give a crap & just wanted to clock out for the weekend.

Great belt.
This is the best belt I've ever bought. Very good quality and excellent ratchet system means it is always as tight as you want it.
