When I bought my A/C unit, it came with a window adapter that couldn't easily be used with my old crank-out casement windows. Each year, I jury-rigged some way to jam it into the open window and fill up the empty space with towels or other materials to "make do".This year, the plastic "spout" at the end of the hose had deteriorated, so I bought this kit, thinking I'd only use that one part. But when it arrived, I realized I could use the sliders to help fill out the space in the open window. It was pretty easy to figure out how to put the pieces together and I liked how easy it was to adjust the finished width. It didn't even require all of the pieces that were sent, so I'm sure this kit could be used on very wide (or tall) windows.It works great. I still need to use a rag at the top and bottom of the window, but this is a much better solution that I what I had before. I may order a second and keep it my office to make it easier to move the A/C when I need to.

This is the perfect replacement vent system for our portable a/c unit. It went together easily and although the plastic is a bit thinner than the original and the unit is slightly narrower in the window it worked beautifully. I just bought some thick insulating foam to help hold it in place. Happy with this purchase!

Fits my AC but doesn't create a seal with the window and frame I'm going to have to go buy some extra sealing foam at the hardware store which is a bummer. But it fit my extra large horizontal windows and works with my costway portable AC.
