Maxx Flo Outlet - Oversized Downspout Outlet (5 inch, Low Gloss White)

My house is under a couple ginormous pine trees. I used to have to clean gutters every other weekend (for years). This product is wonderful, and totally resolved that issue. Pine cones flow right through them. Wouldn't suggest anything else to anyone.

Purchased these because the large pine trees next to my house were destroying any chance of my downspouts working by dropping medium-sized pine cones constantly. I was able to remove my standard-sized residential downspouts and install these adaptors with few problems. A multitool or dremel may be the way to go for cutting out the necessary hole. I did need to explore my options for routing the curves and offsets of the new, larger downspouts, but once everything was installed I stopped having problems with backed up gutters. The tipping angle of the adaptor has worked very well. The lower point of the adaptor could probably be extended and shaped a little to make it easier to attach vertical gutters. The flanges that are pre-drilled to attach to the horizontal gutter could possibly be taller, to add a little more stability and keep any screws used from catching debris.

To handle the water flow from a large tin roof

I honestly did not expect this item to work - but it did! I have a short section of gutter that collects water from a very high percent of the roof. I should have had the large gutters and a 3x4 downspout installed but didn't know better at the time. Whenever we have heavy rain, the gutter backs up and overflows. It's isn't convenient for me to replace the gutter as I have a gutter guard also installed to keep leaves out of the gutter and it would be very difficult to disassemble everything. I decided to try enlarging the downspout from 2x3 to 3x4 and thought that this item would be able to interface the larger downspout to the small gutter. I used a drill and tin snips to open up the bottom of the gutter to accept this outlet. Also, note that the outlet is just formed thin aluminum that is riveted together. The seams are wide open and a little sloppy. I decided to seal all the seams from the inside with a good silicon caulk the day before installing it. Glad i did - zero leaks! At the next heavy rain we had - the gutter drained nicely and did not overflow. Its worked!

Works as advertised. Haven’t had to clean my gutters once since I installed and I live in the forest.

The step by step instructions, including a cutout template made the installation smooth for this DIY’er. I have a large roof going through a single downspout. My project expanded capacity from a 2.25” hole going to 2x3 tubes to this monster feeding 3x4. Along with gutter guard installation, I’m hoping this is the last time I worry when it rains for a long time.
