Great Transducer
Installation was quick and easy. I did not have a NMEA2000 network onboard but bought a kit to provide expandability. This transducer communicates well with my Garmin 8610 chartplotter by the network and my phone via bluetooth with the Airmar app. Being able to view depth, speed and water temp anywhere is great.

Piece of junk
Absolute garbage. First one that came on my boat died within 3 years, first one I purchased to replace it died first time out and 3rd one I got as a warranty replaced has now died a year later. These aren't supposed to be common failures but they sure have been for me. Works perfectly fine up until it completely doesn't. No water intrusion, no physical clues to what causes the failure whatsoever, they just die and leave to stuck with no depth, speed, or temp whenever they fail.

Better than the DST800
It seems Airmar finally get it right. But Airmar softwares are a pain. Last update for weather product were 7 years ago!!! Good products but very poor sofwares

Broke at just over a year
Depth Speed and Temperature? At just over a year, temperature reads a steady 139.6 degrees F. Guess I'm out of warranty. What else can I buy?

No Marine Growth Protection!
The dst 810 is a great concept, however the newest come with an addendum saying not to paint the paddlewheel or channel with bottom paint(waterbased). They recommend taking the sensor out and installing the blanking plug when not using the boat for a while! iT DOES NOT TAKE LONG FOR MARINE GROWTH TO RENDER THE SPEED PADDLE WHEEL INOPERATIVE AND IT MAY BE EXTREMLY INCONVIENENT TO ROMOVE THE UNIT EVERY TIIME YOU LEAVE THE BOAT FOR A WEEK. The boat speed bluetooth app also seems to be somewhat fussy and may not work at all in my experience. Depth works and temp probably does as well, don't know. Seems that though the engineeering was done somewhat well, however, practical issues such as protecting against marine growth were not addressed. This unit costs $400 bucks and basically does not give you boat speed so it really is a depth and temp sensor only.

If upgrading from an ST50/60, you’ll have to cut a larger through hull
My ST60 screen and transducer stopped working on my Privilege 42 catamaran. We beached the cat on a sandbar, once the tide receded removed the old transducer, cut the through-hull to be slightly larger (2in), used Bostick quick drying sealant, installed the DST810, and by the time the tide returned I had a working depth/speed/temp system once again. The app portion of this product is a little iffy, if you prefer Imperial measurements. Easy if you’re accustomed to the metric system. It’s pretty basic, and since we don’t keep the sailing instruments powered when not in use it’s not helpful all the time.
