(*See end of review.)<< This probiotic has been a "miracle cure" for my 4yo, 100lb Bernoodle. On a daily basis for almost 3 years, he endured very smelly, very soft, mostly-formed stools. He also suffered from severe stress diarrhea. After countless vet visits, expensive prescriptions, food upgrades & pre, pro & postbiotic supplement additions, I had all but given up on finding my dog some relief. One day while scrolling social media, I came across an obscure, albeit enlightening, article discussing "regular" probiotics vs soil based probiotics. After researching the subject, I found only a handful of brands that had soil based probiotics. I chose Four Leaf Rover's PROTECT Soil Based Probiotic brand because [1] it is all natural, [2] has only has 9 ingredients which are all recognizable and active, [3] has ZERO inactive ingredients, [4] has the most concentrated CFU counts, [5] was the best value for the money, and [6] has fantastic reviews on and off Amazon. This stuff is amazing. After about 2 weeks, I suddenly realized that my pup's stools were actually improving. By the time the container was finished (60 days +/-), his number 2's were as near to perfect as they could be. And his stress diarrhea wasn't diarrhea anymore ... it had become merely airy, soft stools without the deathly smell. Plus, an additional benefit ... his breath isn't stinky (in my dog's case anyway). I wish I had found this product sooner. Thank you, Four Leaf Rover for creating this miracle cure for my Enzo. Please don't discontinue or reformulate PROTECT; it's perfect as is ... simple yet super effective. I will continue to buy PROTECT & 1000% recommend this product to anyone whose dog is dealing with gastrointestinal issues & hasn't found much, if any, sustainable relief with conventional probiotics. My best advice about administering though: GO SLOW with dosing ... it's potent! I started with 1/4 of my dog's eventual suggested daily dose (100lb = 1 tbsp) for the first week, then increased weekly as his stool improved. It took about 6 weeks to get to full dose. *As of this writing, my boy only needs 90% of his suggested daily dose to maintain his stool quality. This allows me the flexibility to increase the dose for incidental stool issues.

This is an exceptional probiotic that I have been using for years. I use it in rotation, however I have relied on this particular product for my dogs. It keeps their gut healthy and helps insure they are healthy. Great product and great price. The product is soil based and organic. Most competitors are just realizing how important that soil based is!!

It helped solve my dogs frequent yeast infections in his toes and ears and he loves the taste !

I’m on my second container of Four Leaf Rover Protect and it’s become part of my dog’s daily routine. He occasionally gets loose stool, and since using this consistently, his digestion has been a lot more stable. I really like knowing it supports his gut and helps with detox. The ingredients are what sold me. It has wild blueberries for natural antioxidants, plus soil-based probiotics which I’ve read are more resilient and effective for dogs compared to some other kinds. It also includes chlorella and bentonite clay, which help bind toxins and support detoxification — a big plus for me since we can’t always control what our dogs are exposed to. The powder is easy to scoop and mix into his food, no issues with taste or him turning his nose up. I really trust this brand’s commitment to quality and transparency. Highly recommended if your looking to boost your dogs overall health!

After 3 weeks of adding this to my dogs food I notice 2 changes. 1. poop is smaller 2. One of my dogs is no longer interested in messing around with his sisters poop. I feed my dogs raw, organic or grass fed food and use a recipe that meet AAFCO standards and requirements. My dogs are Yorkies between 5 and 8 pounds. And they eat the proper amount required for their weight, once a day (copying the diet of a dog in the wild). Keeping all that in mind the 2 changes we have notice could not work on dogs that eat a regular none natural commercial diet or bigger in size. The container arrive in perfect conditions, was not open, ir broken, after reading the reviews I was worry about that. I agree with others, for this price they should at least place a tape and or seal it inside like other companies do to avoid losses when mishandled by carriers companies. Overall is a good product and is working great with my dogs.

Easy way to get product and dogs eat it fine.

I tried giving less than prescribed and spreading it out throughout her meals but even then it still causes her to have diarrhea. She is on a raw diet and has had perfect stool. She is allergic to all protein except rabbit. I purchased this because she is having ear issues so I was hoping this plant based prebiotic/probiotic would give her some relief. She’s still miserable. The smell never bothered her. She still locked her bowl clean so the taste was good to her. Plenty of servings since I was giving 1/2 tsp instead of prescribed 3/4.
