I bought one pair and then went to the Dollar Store (Family Dollar) and purchased two oval cutting boards for $1 ea. Then traced the adapters onto the cutting boards, cutting them using jigsaw, drilled holes, and bam, I now have thick sturdy speaker adapters! Although, may not have been worth it just to save $20 (two pairs doubled up). I heard these do NOT work for 6.5" speakers, so only use these if you have 5.25" speakers just as I now do because I switched my stock 6x8 speakers on over to Skar 5.25" speakers because round speakers sound better so I heard several reviewers say.

First these were ordered to use in a 2011 Ford Expedition EL King Ranch. CF and SE websites said the 6.5” speakers I ordered, Memphis MS60, would fit in the oem 6x8” opening with these adapters. Amazon’s fit guide said the same thing about these adapters. They are getting their information from Scosche, who supplies the parts. I bought the adapters from Amazon and when I tried to fit them, like a lot of reviewers here, found they did not fit without heavy modifications. I then went to Metra’s website and they’re adapters come with a warning that not all 6.5 speakers will fit without cutting or that they recommend a consumer made custom fitting. I thought about sending them back but I pulled out my scroll saw and attempted to make the necessary modifications. There is absolutely no way these have enough plastic on the thin edges to keep from breaking. It would be easier to cut the thing in half and just use the 4 corners to secure it to the opening. This 2 hour job has turned into a labor intense SS. I do not recommend these for this application. I am seriously thinking of sending everything back and ordering 6x8” components. I gave it 3 stars due to the fact it would work with 5.25 speakers and the thickness of the plate seems adequate for that purpose. Also measurement of the depth of the speakers is crucial for this vehicle due to the speaker buckets in the door.

I’m not sure why other reviews say these don’t work for 6 1/2” speakers because they worked great my mine, no modification needed. Installed 6 1/2” speakers into my 2012 F-150 with no problems. Good material, no rattle or other issues. Will by again off needed.

These will not fit either of the 6.5 inch sets of speakers I have. A 5 1/4 would fit great. Oher than that, they are hella sturdy and the mounting holes fit perfect on my 11 Mazda 3.

I purchased these for my 2013 Ford F150 FX4. I have Infinity Kappa Perfects 6.1 which I was told wouldn't work in my truck by Crutchfield. So for the price I took a chance. I mounting the speakers by using a 1/8 in drill bit and mounted the speakers to the plates with a shorter screw. They fit perfect in my truck and needed no trimming. Make sure to use Dynamat so you get the best sound available and makes for a quieter ride. Sometimes it pays to take a chance the speakers are incredible when having 120 w x4 being pushed into them the bass and clarity are as they claim Perfect. I have the thunderform with the FPR10-04 installed and 500w in 4 ohm into that with the Alpine PDX-V9 and the Audio control L7CI being I have the Sony system with my touch and nav made a huge diffidence over the very disappointing stock 750 w stereo. Long review on a simple product but everything was purchased from Amazon but thunderform.

Vehicle: 2014 Ford Taurus LimitedFront doorsI’m using these with a set of Alpine SPR-50C 5/14” speakers. The adapter is a perfect fit for the door opening. When I put the speaker in the adapter, I used 4 clips where the speaker screws on so I would get it nice and tight.It’s kind of hard to explain, but the area where the screw goes is open ended. If you use a large screw, you could probably get it to grab, but I used a smaller screw with a clip. I slid the clip onto the adapter, one hole on each side. Then, I screwed into the clip.

Well not a terrible product by any means. The thickness is decent however will not fit 6.5 inch speaker without modification. I used a 5 1/2 inch hole saw with bracket screwed down to plywood to make hole big enough. By doing so however it only left an 1/8 of an inch off material on each of the sides, still works fine but was little concerned with it breaking (never did) would like to have seen at least a quarter inch on each side. Predrilled holes matched perfect with my Ford which was nice. All in all not sure I'd recommend this for someone wanting to use a 6.5 speaker unless they don't mind modifying it. I could have made my own adapters with plywood with about the same amount of effort as modifying these to get the speakers to fit. For 5 and 1/4 speakers would highly recommend though.

I ordered a set of these and a set of Metra’s adapter and the scosche adapters are much more sturdier and have a better fitment. Have I known this I would have bought two sets of these instead.

They did what they were supposed to do. They fit my 5 1/4 inch door speakers perfectly. Do not get them for 6 1/2 inch speakers. They will not fit.

Description is wrong and apparently it’s not eligible for return. Fix the description or take it back!!Update: Amazon gave me a refund.
