So good, it made the thief give up and throw a tantrum
After 3 years of daily use by my teen on his college campus, this lock finally got its moment to shine. Someone tried to steal his e-scooter... and failed. Instead of getting through the lock, the thief just smashed the scooter out of frustration. The scooter took a hit, but the lock? Still holding strong like a champ. It’s not cheap, but if it can survive a full-on scooter-smashing tantrum, it’s worth every penny.10/5, would buy again.

A heavy duty bike block.
Great bike lock would buy one again and probably will from my girlfriend’s bike. Although it’s heavy, that’s what you want.

Only lock I trust.
I lock up my electric scooter and mountain bike in urban areas trusting this Abus lock. It's long U shape make it easier to use around poles and other random solid steel things I find in the city. Each of my rides cost almost 3k a piece so I require the best available lock and I've been very happy with this. The lock is nearly impossible to cut, the lock core has advanced security protections in it and both ends are locked into the base. Most U locks don't have any of these features.I recommend this to everyone that likes their bike or scooter and would rather not have to replace it.2 keys, one small one and one larger one with a little light on it too which has helped in dark places.

Great Lock - Misleading/Cumbersome Advertised Selling Point
The lock itself is solid, but don't take my word for it as there are plenty of reviews on the internets that have done many tests on it showing that it is up there with the Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit. Also the frame mount that it comes with is a great. Now the reason for docking a star - and this is applicable to any Abus lock that advertises the ability to get matching keys on yours locks.First off the locks that advertise that they can be matched to other locks fail to make it clear that there are 2 different levels of keys and they can not be matched to each other. Xplus locks can only be matched to other Xplus locks and YourPlus can only be matched to Yourplus. On its own this isn't a big deal and I understand that their higher end locks (like this product) use a better lock/key, but it does mean that you won't be able to match it to your ebike's battery lock.Second - and the much bigger issue - is that in order to get a matching lock/key, you need to:- Buy the first lock and get the code off of the key- Find a store that will order from Abus for you (there is no way to do this through Amazon and many other online retailers)- Hope that the store that does it knows how. I called 2 bike stores that carry Abus and it took multiple people at each store to determine if it was even something they could do and then them wondering how to do it- When they finally found someone who knew how to do it, he informed me that it took 4.5 months for Abus to send the lock to the store (this may have been slowed by COVID, but he said even before COVID it took 2 or more months).- If you do decided to go forward, you must pay 20% extra on top of MSRP (so you are taking an expensive lock that you could probably find for less than MSRP, paying MSRP on it and then adding another 20%).It's nice that Abus offers a program to have matching keys, but when that process is so cumbersome (months to get you a lock) and costly (buying this lock again to match would result in me paying 85% more than I paid it); for most it is likely just easier to carry one additional key. If you are the market for this type of lock and want an additional matching lock, you probably don't want to wait months for that lock to arrive. As far as adding/replacing keys, I heard that process is similar in regards to having to order it through a authorized dealer, paying a somewhat high fee and then waiting weeks to months for it to arrive, but at least I can see a use case where that might be worthwhile.

Tweaker proof
I've been using it to keep my bike locked up outdoors. There have been numerous attempts at stealing my bike and this lock has prevented it every time. There are marks from failed bolt cutter attempts, and most recently someone tried to torch it off. I haven't tried to use it yet since it got torched, so I'm not sure if it still works but my bike is still there so it stopped the theft. The mount that attaches the lock to the bike is excellent as well, although I did need to lubricate its mechanism as it started not wanting to work properly after some time.

Works great and addressing other review concerns
Just got it, works great, and solid steel cannot be bent at all. I will update my review if I have any problems. I would like to address the following review concerns.1. Someone said "I left my bike overnight and it got stolen": Don't leave your bike out overnight, no bike lock will keep it safe for that long, maybe some motorcycle locks. Bring it indoors or use the bike cages like BikeLink. This lock still stops angle grinders for about 6 mins according to some videos I've seen since they have to cut it twice and seems impervious to any manual or powered wire or bolt cutters.2. It includes the mount. I don't know why people have said otherwise but my guess is they did not open the smaller box within the packaging which includes the mount. I should also add that it comes with several pieces to mount to sections of the frame anywhere between 14 and 35 mm in diameter.3. I have seen others say that they can't get the key out. I should note that keys can only be taken out when it is the locked position. The "U" bar doesn't need to be connected but you have to rotate the key 180 deg to the locked position to remove it or insert and once you insert and rotate to the unlocked position the key can not be removed. I hope that's clear.

Abus Granit X-Plus 540/160 HB230 9 Inch, U-Lock with USH Holder
This is a good sturdy lock that I mounted on my Giant Roam E+3 STA stepthrough ebike. I bought it because of the positive review and high security rating by CR. I trust this is the best lock of its type. It does slightly touch my thigh when I pedal, but that is the only practical place to mount it. I didn't want to mount it in the middle because that would take away from the step through feature of the bike. The mount for the lock is well designed. The lock does fit in the bag on the back rack as an option. I would recommend this lock because it's one of the best at a reasonable cost. I bought a 2nd one for my wife's e-bike. Nowhere to mount it on her bike; it will have to go in the rear rack bag.
