**Q: Can this be trimmed?**
A: Yes, there are creases in between the pattern that can be cut on the width. It would look good

**Q: If my cat has an accident, will this mat prevent it from getting on the floor?**
A: No my cat tends to overshoot her boxes occasionally and the pee soaked right thru this mat.  I have puppy pads under all my mats now to catch it and just check them regularly.  Hope this helps.

**Q: These don't seem machine washable, are they?**
A: no, the mat is not machine washable.

**Q: How do you clean this mat? Will soap and water ruin it?**
A: I put in a large sink w soap & water - then use a soft brush to scrub it - then hang it out to dry.
