Char-Broil Folding Chicken Roaster

Cooked a large fat hen using this today in big easy. Worked great. I was afraid it would collapse but stood upright for entire cooking time. The directions say to put an upright beer can in the middle but I didn"t. Next time I will put the remaining rub mixed with juice in a small can to steam the inside of poultry. Dont know if it would be strong enough to hold up a turkey but would keep a turkey breast standing up right and moist

This is a great beer can roaster for the grill. It does what it is supposed to do. I love that it folds flat for storage compared to other options out there. However, I'm not sure if this is the case with all beer can roasters or not, but it is difficult to take off the grill after done cooking. You basically have to hold the chicken with one gloved hand, and the bottom of the roaster with another in order to get it onto a baking dish or pan of sorts to take into the kitchen. If there are options out there with a wider base, this might be avoided perhaps. However, it does the job and has the added bonus of being able to fold flat for storage.

Getting the chicken onto the can holder is a little difficult. But once she's on, BBQing the bird couldn't be easier. You don't have to worry about your Beer Can Chicken toppling over on the grill or on it's way from the grill to the kitchen.I appreciate that this product folds up, since we don't have much storage space to warrant more fancy kitchen gadgets. It is simple and sturdy--seems well made. This was definitely worth the price for the convenience it offers, and small amount of space it takes up when not in use.

I have used with both beer and soda cans. It looks like the it is designed to hold the can in placed securely, but I found it a little loose and I have to hold the 2 upright arms on the can with one hand while I place the chicken in place. I also found it a little tricky to remove while the chicken is hot. Spaying with a cooking spray helps. Having a 2nd set of hands to assist makes it much easier. Have someone hold the base of the folding chicken roaster while you lift the chicken off.
