Great Book
I ordered this book by mistake thinking it was about the 'Haunting In Connecticut' case. That book is really 'In A Dark Place: The Story of a True Haunting' which I have now ordered. However I was very glad I ordered this book. It is fascinating. This story was made into a one hour episode of the TV show 'A Haunting'. When I watched that episode I had the feeling that there were important aspects of the case that were left out due to time constraints and maybe other reasons. They could have easily made this into a two hour 'A Haunting' episode. The main question is why was this family afflicted with this nightmare. Well this book tells why. The Glatzels would go on snow mobile trips with some 'friends' from Old Forge in New York State. Those friends were Satanists and they placed a curse on the Glatzel family which was targeted mainly at their two sons. And it was those two kids who were most affected by the demonic activities.Strangely the curse was activated when David's sister and her boyfriend moved into a weird house that had some sort of boarded up area down in the basement. Apparently witchcraft had gone on there or something. The situation escalated very quickly from there.Mrs. Glatzel ended up feeling that the Catholic Church abandoned her family at some point. I disagree with this however. There was a period of time when Catholic priests were in their home almost 24 hours a day. If it wasn't for the Church their son David would either be dead or in a mental institution today. The famous demonologist Ed Warren also criticized the actions taken by the Catholic Church in Connecticut because they didn't perform the exact type of exorcism ritual that he felt was required. These are complicated issues and can have legal ramifications. What is someone dies during an exorcism ? Well the Church will get blamed for not calling 911. More law suits. This story includes amazing revelations about the demonic world. The possessed kid David develops strange paranormal abilities such as being able to predict the future, seeing things that are happening miles away, etc..He also provides visual descriptions of those evil creatures although later Ed Warren summons it and the creature has a somewhat different form. It was like hate, betrayal, lust, death, etc., all rolled up into one. Those demonic creatures are foul, dirty entities filled with hate. David stated that they "hate God, hate Christmas, hate people, and hate each other". The demon threw the neighbor's dog in the road where it was hit by a car.Like The Amityville Horror case someone ends up getting killed in this story, apparently as a result of demonic influences. This is a great book I highly recommend it. Fascinating story but puzzling point of view
I love books like this and find the Warren phenomenon very interesting (and have learned about them from a direct source related to the Rhode Island farmhouse that the first film is based on). This story was disturbing and very interesting, but as with similar books in this topic, such as Amityville, the style of writing leaves the reader confused about the point of view, who witnessed this, where did the author receive his or her information from, were they themselves witness to the events they are writing about? The book reads like an omniscient observer saw it all and then wrote it down. The content is fascinating, but the writing should have been more concise and clear about its sources and witnesses.

HAD to Read This After Seeing The Conjuring 3!
I absolutely love The Conjuring franchise and The Warrens. I went to see The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and I was so intrigued by this very complex, dangerous, and sinister case of Ed and Lorraine’s - not to mention terrified! The movie was great and was very different from the first two. Just like the film, this book explores the demonic, murder, Satanism, cults, and the dark side of spirituality. The case of Arne Johnson is very alluring and I truly believe his story of murder via demonic possession, since there were so many witnesses who swore he was possessed, and since Arne never had a history of violence or mental illness prior to the murder. Ed and Lorraine Warren, who I love and look up to very much, we’re heavily involved in the case and did everything they could to help this young man get off as easy as possible…and they truly succeeded. However, they had to go through terrifying and diabolical obstacles first. “The Devil in Connecticut” is a very intriguing, chilling, informative, and downright scary true story of one of The Warrens’ most sinister cases. I’m so glad the film brought this book back in print so the world can know about the demonic. Definitely a very well-worth read to say the least!FIVE STARS!

Crosses,Holy water Bible.<---Buy Before you read
I am not the typical gullable fool. Im not a crazy weirdo. I am a normal guy. Regular cool dude. But I have a interest in this weird stuff so I bought this book and many others all at once........ It has been 4 years now since I have read this book and I have never wrote a reveiw. I am watching a paranormal show right now and it reminded me of this book and of the reveiws I read before I bought it. Quit a few people were mentioning that when they read this book that creepie things happened during the time they read it. When I read that, I thought, haha, these ammatures, cant handle a scary book and not relizing they are just spooked. What gullable drama queen fools. I have read alot of scary books without any experiences. Now I never admitted it to myself until just now 4 years later, that when I read this book simular things happened. Now, my house doesnt have electrical problems and my lights never as much as flicker. One night after reading the book I was sitting in my chair the whole house lights fadded low low lower than up again. I set thinking, yea ok,no sweat. (on the outside) Than it happened again fade lower faded lower. The whole house. Not flickering but slowly fading. Only time I ever seen that in my life. 2nd thing that happened was I was outside at 2/3am drinking sleeptime tea and I hear a man or "somthing" moaning...the sound you would imagine comeing from a old abandon creepy house. The most creepy moaning sound I ever heard come out of a person(unseen?). Or whatever it was. Now I know their was an explination but what the heck was that? I lived on a popular street that wasnt creepie at all. I never experienced anything before or after that. Now for my review of the book................

Awful pathetic Hollywood horror
For something that was meant to be a true story they missed the whole bloody story out ! Parts of the film was laughable because it just got stupid. I had high hopes of this film and was very disappointed. Read the book 10000% better. Could have been so much better had they actually gone with the actually documentation and not just made crap up

so much better then the movie
This book was amazing and just pulls you in, it was very hard to put it down and there was never a dull moment. So much better then the movie, I found the movie hard to follow and to far fetched and left thinking well that was crap and what a waste of money. I’m so glad I invested in this book.

Highly recommend if this is your genre.
Fantastically written, tells the story accurately and frighteningly well. I couldn’t put this book down. I recommend reading if you liked the Exorcist.
