I love this cheese grater. Just like the restaurants. Makes things easier. I get a block of Parmesan and cut pieces off to fill grater. It works like a dream. I cook Italian a lot so it is great to have to decrease my labor. Fun as well. Easy clean up and durable product. I hand wash with ease.

This is excellent quality, it feels sturdy and it works really well. I am definitely glad I payed a little extra for the restaurant certified one. People who see it or test it out tell me that it feels just like the ones at Olive Garden.

This is perfect! Exactly like the Olive Garden cheese grater - exactly what I wanted. We use this everyday without fail, it works amazingly and is super easy to use, and the fact that it can be dishwashed is just so great. We only ever use it for parmesan so I can't speak for other cheeses but it really does a great job for parmesan.

I've used this and ran it through the dishwasher several times. Seems like it's going to hold up just fine quality wise. My only issue is that it binds up when grating. Even when I'm barely squeezing hard enough to get the cheese to grate. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

My wife is Italian and a marvelous cook — no complaints there! But she used to bring the Parmesan and Romano cheese to the table with a handheld grater — one hand on the grater, one on the cheese — and pass it around for everyone to use. Even though it was just family, it always made me a little uneasy from a food-safety standpoint. This rotary cheese grater put all those concerns to rest. It’s faster, safer, and easier to use — and I can get more cheese with less effort. The build quality has been excellent, and cleaning is simple. I wouldn’t mind a bit more storage space, but that’s a small trade-off for how well it works. Overall, it’s a solid product and a great value for the money.

For years I used an old tin French-made “Mouli Crater” that served me fairly well. It was easy to use but had to be dried for fear of rusting. Only had two parts and very easy to clean. For some reason I felt that modern innovation, sleek design, non-rust material, and Swiss engineering would provide me with a better product. Not quite. This model bogs down quickly as the grating barrel fills up (I was using a hard cheddar as opposed to a soft cheese). The barrel must be unscrewed and the handle disconnected to clean. There is a deep channel inside one end of the grater barrel that is difficult to clean. One requires a bottle brush to perform a proper cleaning. Good thing I didn’t throw away the old tin French Mouli Grater.

I had another similar plastic grater. Handle broke off in less than a year. After returning to using my old hand grater for a couple years, I tried this. It works perfectly. It feels sturdy. I can put about a 4 oz block of Parmesan in, and it grates it, with an occasional flip of cheese as it gets down on circular blade. This is for firm cheese like Parmesan. It will not work with soft cheese like Mozzarella. It isn’t meant for that. Looks like it will last a couple years. Cleaning? It’s Parmesan. We just tap it out. Turn the wheel. Thoroughly. Back in drawer. Little to clean. Maybe we are weird, but it works. Sure. Could throw it in dishwasher. But really? I would pay a hundred dollars for a solid steel or aluminum grater like this that would last for decades. With a replacement grinder wheel. I looked and looked. But I can not find one. The restaurant we went to sixty years ago as a child had one. Or so I remember. Oh. So long ago. Ok. I give it two years. We see. Works well today.

Our previous Zyliss lasted for many years but needed replacement. This successor does the job well.
