Good sight, magnifiers cannot focus at 2 different distances at the same time.
This is an excellent magnifier, and one of the few in this price range with variable magnification. Many of the reviewers here have unrealistic expectations. Scopes and magnifiers cannot focus at 2 different distances at the same time. So, if you are focused in on the target, the reticle is going to be out of focus. If you want real long range precision you have to get a scope or sight with it's own magnification. These are for providing magnification to CQB sights. Mount on a flip to the side mount to quickly transition between close quarters and longer range. The reticle is blurred when magnified, but still good enough for decent accuracy at intermediate distances. I have this mounted with a Sightmark M-Spec Ultrashot, and the reticle is no more blurry for me than Eotech holographic sights are even without magnification.

Good optic, not perfect for Eotech.
Quality of the optic itself is very good. Glass, weight, and construction all seem very sound. I have had no problems with anything coming loose at the range or in transport. My main complaint is that the mount that came with the optic does not align perfectly up to my Eotech 552 or 512. It is about an 1/8 -1/4 inch high which translates to a very narrow and obscured field of view. I purchased this unit to not have buy an additional mount for the magnifier, but it looks like I will have to do that now.

My PA 6X magnifier works like a CHAMP
Could NOT get it to focus at any magnification. My PA 6X magnifier works like a CHAMP.

Steer clear of this magnifier
Bought this alongside the Lucid HD7 sight thinking they'd work perfectly together since they're made by the same company... boy was I wrong. This magnifier seemed to be high quality when I opened the box but after mounting it & taking it to the range I realized it's junk. Not only is the eye relief pretty bad (about 2 inches) but the magnification is blurry. The HD7 reticle was crystal clear on it's own but when viewed through this magnifier, it was 'ghosted' & blurry. I tired mounting it at different distances from the HD7 and even tried different lighting conditions (indoors & out) but I got the same result each time. The magnifier on it's own has a semi-clear picture at distances (up close is blurry) so to me that rules out it being the HD7. My advice would be to go with a 'fixed' magnification optic from a higher quality manufacturer. I ended returning both Lucid products and going with the Millet DMS-1 (1-4x) sight after testing it out at the range (and loving it).

Before I bought this, I was using a cheap knock off of this model that actually had better eye relief and stronger magnification. But it broke down quickly. As most knock offs usually do. So I ditched it and bought the real thing. This Lucid is built a lot better. The eye relief is ok and magnification is ok. The Lucid has a adjustable focus lenses, that others do not ! You can put your red dot and magnifier far apart and then focus the magnifier in. The magnifier does not have to be right next to red dot. So that's my opinion. I feel like crap that I fell for the " buy the cheaper knock off and save money, watch it break down, then have to buy the real thing" scheme. Save some money by buying the real thing in the first place.

Better than all the others
This is the best zoom magnifier you can get currently, and worth much more than it costs. Clear, crisp optics, akin to High-end lenses on a camera. A lot of people mention the placement of the zoom ring, but understand it is there because that is the only part that can move for internal focus. Would you rather the scope rotated or hit you in the eye when zooming? Best part is the adjustable lens to center your reticle, although it really isn't necessary with a properly zeroed RDS.Perfect 1/3 lower cowitness when used with the American Defense SM-01 mount (NOT the Vortex Sm-01), which is sadly not available on Amazon. You can get it from American Defense or direct from Lucid. Simply unbelievable customer service from Lucid! I think this will be a hard to get item soon... Update - be careful when you get up to 5x when firing heavily. Mine locked up on me, but patience and gentle rocking got it back in shape. Not sure whether it will do it again, but will come back and edit if it does.

Great price and great product
This optic IS the revised version with ocular focus. It works very well at full magnification (at least with my Eotech xps) and is very clear and has a great adjustable eye relief. It was easily adjustable and centered my holo correctly. And best of all it was obtained at a fraction of the price of all the places I priced.

For the money it wotks.
It is a little long in the length, made it hard to mount on my gun. When I turn up the magnification past 3 the dot starts to blur, so in my opinion 4 & 5 are not really usable.
