Put the SSD from my previous computer into a nice little OWC housing, and this cable was just the ticket to allow me to use a USB C port to use it, rather than a "standard" USB port, which gets used for a lot of other devices.Nice length, nice quality, works exactly as I'd hoped.

Allows me to connect a portable external hard drive directly to my 2020 MacBook Pro without a hub. I used BlackMagic Speed Test with two different disks, and read and write performance was the same whether connected via USB 3 to my docking station vs directly attached to the MacBook with this cable. So it's nice to have when I take an external drive for backups or video but don't want to carry a hub, but it's not any faster. Still 5 stars as it works as it should and delivers as much throughput as my devices are capable of.

I tested this on a Seagate 4TB Expansion portable HDD, as well as a WD_Black 12TB, and both worked flawlessly. I still have their old USB Micro-B to USB A cables, but now with the recent modern laptops (such as the MacBooks), unless you have a hub, you can't use those cables anymore. I tested it with my HP Spectre x360 13". Unlike those older longer fatter chords, this one is sleeker, but since it's so short, it's more ideal for the smaller portable hard drives than the full drives.Update: I have also tested this on my WD_Black 5TB portable drive on my PS5, and it also works great.

Was so glad to have finally found this. I have a bunch of external hard drives that I use to keep a variety of different projects on. They all have a micro-b cable connection. My newer devices have c ports instead of usb (or at least no extra usb ports) so this was a wonderful addition. I’ve end managed to attach a hard drive to my iPad which makes it way more versatile too. Love this. It works perfectly and was just what I needed.

I wanted this cable as a spare for use with my WD USB Drive. So far in my testing, this cable works as well and as fast as the OEM cable. The price is reasonable for this cable. Not much else to wrote about this. I'll come back to update my review if anything changes my opinion.

Used this to connect a couple WD MyPassport drives to my Lenovo laptop that only has one USB-A port and one USB-C port. So it helps to have USB-C at one end to give me options. I had no issues with speed or power, so this should be a fine choice if you're in the market for this type of cable.

The product was just what I needed and came in great condition.
