This is a raw, untreated Shikakai powder processed by finely grinding Shikakai pods obtained from wilderness. The method of grinding is a through a pulveriser (heavy duty industrial grinder). Almost Shikakai powders are processed through the same method. We have not radiated the powder and we have not heated it. Pods are dried in sunlight under glass panes before grinding them. The powder is free from any kind of external substance, not even a preservative.

What is the expiration date? I want to order this product but i haven't seen any recent reviews.

Hi, By the time we write to you this message today, 6th August 2020, the Earliest Expiration Date of our stocks of Shikakai Powder 227g existing on Amazon Warehouse is February 2022. We work in small batches. In a single batch we do not produce more than 500 Packs of 227g. There are 3 batches sent in last 4 months. The one with the earliest manufacturing date was March 2020 and it has an EXPIRY DATE OF February 2022. The latest batch was sent on June . It has EXPIRY DATE OF May 2022. For a seller who continuously replenishes their stock in the amazon warehouses, it is impossible for them to let their customers know which exact batch they will receive. Moreover, Amazon always sends an Inventory Ageing Report to the sellers. This helps the sellers to manage their inventory. As we work on small batches and replenish our stocks when our inventory reaches a very low level, our new stocks are generally replenished in a gap of every 60 to 80 days. Hence, by the end of this month, we shall add another lot with a newer batch number and a longer shelf life (higher expiry date). I trust, this resolves your concern about the Expiration Date. I was looking for options for hair growth, but there were so many options that made my hair greasy and was oil based. I decided to make my own water base, leave-in, Concoction. I combined rosemary, fo-ti, green tea, pumpkin seed, red clover, fenugreek, saw palmetto, Alma,Bhringaraj Leaf, Bhringaraj Leaf, Neem Leaf, Shikakai Bark,Tulsi Leaf powders and stored it in this plastic container. When i'm ready to make a bottle to use, i take one scoop and add it to boiling water. And once it's cooled, I strain it with a cheesecloth into this bottle. Once i'm done showering generously, add this to my scalp before drying my hair. I have only used it for 1 week. So far so I am unsure how the results will be, but I am happy to find an alternative to an oily based product. The initial cost of purchasing all the powders is quite a bit, but with the size of this tub, it will last me for quite a bit of time.

This has a centuries old history of use in India and works really well as a HABA-aisle shampoo and conditioner alternative. There are many traditional ways to use this, I really liked mixing it into a loose paste with amla powder and water, then leaving this in for half an hour before rinsing it out. Lots of volume but manageable, very clean but not dried out. Once every two weeks is enough.

Read the instructions before opening the package. Warning: do not inhale or get it in your eyes. After one use, it removed the oils from my hair well and it wasn’t harsh or stripping. This is not to fully replace my wash routines. But I will definitely incorporate it a few times a month. Tip: watch other tutorials on how to use this in your hair. Also, if you can find the whole seeds it is a better option.
