Upon receiving this book, my daughters (10 and 6) oohed and ahhed over the adorable creatures and had trouble deciding which one to draw first, they were so excited. Sometimes with these kind of books I really have to direct them to understand the instructions, but not so with Steve's simple and clear approach. They opened the "1, 2, 3 Draw" and were on their way! Throughout the book, the author/illustrator encourages kids to look around them for sources of inspiration, to apply the skills learned in the book to other animals. Others tend to be too difficult and frustrating, even for an adult. These are easy to follow, with only a few steps for each drawing.
