Cheap but great small bar bag support
I used this to support a small handlebar bag and to stop the bar bag from banging the head tube when I’m out of the saddle pedaling. It works great. It keeps the bag pushed away from the headtube and the carbon bar slid into a nylon loop on the back of the bag. Couldn’t be more perfect!

Sturdy enough for a rowdy mountain bike
I purchased this with the intention of mounting a headlight on my trail bike. I wanted the light to be centered on my steering axis, so by using this extension I can set the light up in-line with my stem. I do a lot of night riding, and having a light setup that I don't have to constantly adjust is critical for me, and this clamp has provided that for about 2 years now. It is a real carbon fiber tube, and the whole assembly is very lightweight considering the cost. It has survived many very rough trails at high speed with a considerably heavy light mounted to it, and it has been used on my bikepacking rig as well. I was able to fit a light, GPS unit, and a bell on the 4" carbon tube for that particular journey, the mount never came loose. Only 2 minor issues with this setup. First, the included handlebar shim is very easy to lose when transferring the mount from one bike to another. I used a small bit of electrical tape to attach the shim to the inside of the clamp. The second issue is that the screw used to attach the clamp around the handlebar is about .25" too short, so you have to be careful to not cross-thread when attaching the clamp, especially since it's threading into aluminum.

I used it to mount my cell phone on my bike. High-quality aluminum does not take up a lot of space.

Great for my iPod as my Wahoo dashboard
Fit with ease on my after market Bontrager handlebars. It holds an iPhone/iPod mount. My iPod doesn’t seem to last more than about an hour long ride since it’s both playing music and constantly displaying metrics so I was able to buy a rubber band made for bike handlebars to hold a lipstick charger in place. Works great and I have a very small lightning cable to connect them. Even easier to see my numbers rather than when just on my handlebars. I’ve gone to snug it up a few times as a PM kind of thing, but it hasn’t needed it. It’s certainly not carbon fiber, but once you have things on it who cares anyway? One of those “wish I had gotten this sooner” things. Will eventually buy for all 3 bikes.

Disappointed
I bought for my electric scooter ..I tightened the screw yet it is loose , maybe need thicker inserts or more ...and the extender is pretty short ..thought it would be longer

Perfect for what I needed
These days, there are so many things that need to be mounted on handlebars, especially on ebikes, that it's easy to run out of space. Brakes, shifters, controller, bell/horn, lights, cell phone/navigation, etc.I flat out ran out of space to put a quality headlight. This device is extremely lightweight, but sturdy and gave me the space to get my light out in front of my bars. This isn't a complaint about the product, it's more a factor that might impact other users. The particular handlebar on my bike is a sloping diameter almost the entire length of the bars. Fatter in the middle, then sloping to narrower near the grips. Because of that, when I first mounted the portion of this extender the grabs onto the bars, it would pretty quickly end up loosening by virtue of the physics of having the mounting point want to slide toward the narrower part of the bars. My hack was to use a small hose clamp right next to the attachment point so the extender's clamp couldn't work its way downhill. I've broken other mounts by trying to overtighten them, so this works perfectly. If you have an area on your bars that's of a consistent diameter, ignore the above. I'm a fan of the product.

Constantly loosens because clamp and spacers are terribly cheap and poorly designed.
I bought two and removed one. The plastic spacers are the worst and will break and fall off causing the whole thing to flail around with whatever you have attached to it scratching everything as you go over bumpy roads. They seriously need to improve the larger clamp to a lever clamp rather than cheap screws that loosen after a few rides. OR use a thread lock! The other stays on because I've used the clamp for my phone to keep it from shifting from the thickest part of the handlebar to the thinnest. Honestly, thread lock and a motorcycle handlebar would work best for this product

Perfect solution of my 3-speed shifter on dropbars
Before there's another negative review, let me just say this is an excellent product and yes, you will have to add the plastic shims or spacer pads depending on the type of handle-bar.I couldn't easily mount my Nexus 3-speed shifter directly on the drop-bars of my gravel bike (i'm an IGH bike rider, no derailleurs for me). It turned out that this handlebar extender was a better option anyway. I used if for a separate phone holder next to shifter but I'm planning on buying a 2nd one to put the phone on the left drop bar which I will use with my bike cadence app and sensor. My shifter is so much easier to use now and it's in perfect spot that makes shifting very easy. Highly recommended!
