Great display, exactly what you’re looking for
Really great display! There’s good documentation with some examples on the waveshare 1.28” wiki for those wanting a quicker start. Keep in mind you’ll have to do some optimizations if you’re working with a microcontroller and need a quicker refresh rate, but I found that process fairly straightforward.

Not as easy to write programs
Always looking for inexpensive displays and this one fit one of my DIY projects. Its very bright and sharp. 240x240 display which are hard to come by for this price. The odd issues I was not expecting was the build in video driver. There is very little documentation. Most of the information I found was on YouTube. I would goggle the driver's name to find help programming this display. I was successful but found the built-in driver had some quirksIt has mounting standoff which makes it easy to mount and the connector makes it easier to plug into a ESP 32 or ESP 8266 Dev board.

Works great
The media could not be loaded. made a SW display for my full size R2D2 and once I figured out what “Adafruit GFX libraries” it needed it was very easy to get running. I’m using an “arduino nano” to run the sketch. Bright and nice little screen

Fellow reviewer saved the day
If it was not for Hyrum Paulsen( a fellow reviewer)( I'm also new to this as well..) It would have taken for ever!! ...Getting anywhere with this was a pain. The pin setup on his review was spot on as well.. (I know I had to use it) Got mine running hello world as well!! But I changed my Text to say something that fits.. Well my frustration!! (I will just say it is not G rated)Not able to find any info, videos, or builds with a Nano?? Yes I know the memory is to low.. But I plan to add an TF card (SD card)

Good screen for small projects!
Update:The Bodmer/TFT_eSPI library makes this an easy to use screen for lots of projects! Great screen I have purchased and used over10 of theses and have had no issues. Old: Lets face it, if this chip set was supported by the Adafruit library or if someone would add it, this screen would be way more popular than what it is. The current library isn't the easiest to work with and that is the limiting factor to the awesome little screen.

Tested with Arduino and works well!!
I needed a round display and this worked out well. I have tested with Arduino uno board it works well!!

Both work well
Both screens work well with no defects.

Quite a nice display
This is really quite a nice display. The PPI is 187.5 which when combined with antialiasing techniques can produce very pleasing visuals.
