Pricey but worth it to me
This stuff may be pricey but it is quality and the sandelwood smell and the lathering of this makes a great wet shave and repurchase other products from them.

Lathers just fine
A lot of complaints on here that this cream doesn’t lather. The description of the product states low lather. However I am able to work up a nice thick lather in about 2-3 minutes with a badger brush and a marble bowl. If you lather on face expect less lather but trust that the oils and moisturizer will give you a slick close shave. Having tried many soaps and creams in the past this one is a keeper.

I have really sensitive skin. And I hate shaving. This is literally the only shave cream I can tolerate but it's great. Pleasant and mild scent, no skin irritation at all, not too expensive. A very solid product.

Disappointing.
Amazon asked; so, yes, I’ll give my opinion. I usually only comment on a product if it goes above and beyond what they promise or if they fall noticeably short. Humble opinion— Caswell-Massey’s sandalwood shave cream falls short, especially given the $30 price tag for an 8 oz container. But price wasn’t the issue, ease of use is. Rinsing C-M’s shave cream from Gillette multi-bladed razors takes noticeably longer than their shave soaps ever did. Shave creams clog these razors. Maybe I’m using the product wrong, but short of switching to a straight blade I don’t know how to get C-M’s shave cream to work. I know, poor baby, right? But when you’re used to moving at a certain pace in the morning, trying to get out the door and on your way to work, any hiccup to your routine is a mild irritant. Unfortunately, C-M discontinued their shave soaps a while ago. I used a different product in the meantime. I thought I’d try their shave cream. I’m sorry I did. I’ll use up what I have; then I’ll look for something else. On the plus side, it’s made in the United States, the sandalwood smells very good, and I suppose the fancy container might impress nosy guests snooping through my medicine cabinet. (That last bit was sarcasm.)
