Dynamic recording of a talented group
I purchased the LP in 1975 when it was released. I always enjoyed the music that Poco created and the album seemed to be more forward, dynamic and driving than most of the albums I was purchasing at that time. I have listened to the LP so much that it is starting to wear. I purchased the CD with some hesitation since many CD's seem to have been re-mastered from the original albums. To my pleasant surprise the CD seems to have been pressed using the same master tape. Excellent sound with no ticks or pops that a well used album tend to get.If you are not familiar with Poco, a quick run down of the members of the group:Jim Messina - guitar: Buffalo Springfield, Poco, later Loggins and Messina, Solo workRichie Furay - guitar: Buffalo Springfield, Poco, Souther Hillman Furay Band, Solo workRusty Young - Steel guitar, piano: Road Manager for Buffalo Springfield, Poco, song writerRandy Meisner - bass: The Poor, Poco, Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage, EaglesGeorge Grantham - Drums: PocoTimothy Schmit - Bass: New Breed, Poco, EaglesPaul Cotton - Guitar: Illinois Speed Press, replaced Messina in 1970 in Poco

The Very Best of Poco is an accurate title
The Very Best of Poco accurately describes their early recorded output. I had this as a double album years ago and decided to replace it on cd. I can now stroll down memory lane anytime I want to. Poco is the band that for some folks was “too country for rock and roll and too rock and roll for country”. I figure, why categorize such well made enjoyable music? I choose to listen and enjoy.

Poco
I have always enjoyed listening to Poco. I had bought the album about 40 years ago and in my opinion has a good cross section of their early years. I no longer have my album collection, so when I saw this in CD I wanted it in my collection. If you enjoy the genre that was known as country rock, then give Poco a listen as they were one of the early bands of country rock

Excellent country-rock
A fine compilation of the band's repertoire of great country-rock songs. Like all fine bands, these songs do not seem repetitive or unoriginal compared to other songs on the CD. If you like country-rock, you will probably like Poco. Sound quality is consistently good

A thumbs up to one of the creators of Country Rock
For most Eagles fans, Poco is essential listening as the band featured, through the years, future Eagles bassists Randy Meisner and Timothy B Schmit. Unfortunate that Poco, one of the progenitors of country rock who have been eligible to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, have been bypassed by several lesser talents...
