Heidifeathers Drop Spindle Spinning Kit - With Natural Wool

So happy I got this. It has everything a beginner will need! To be honest, I didn’t really use the written instructions- opted instead to watch a whole bunch of YouTube videos to get started. Now I have spun a WHOLE bunch of yarn and am quite proud of my progress! Love that it includes different kinds of fiber so you can experience what it feels like to spin different materials. The colors are very pretty as well.

All in all I’m very satisfied with the kit. The only thing I wish it would have included was labeling the wool roving so I would know which wool I’m working with. The quality of the roving is very nice. Very nice kit and great presentation in the decorative box that can be repurposed. Thank you!

This is a beautiful kit and comes in a very nice box that could be reused for storing something. There is also a very nice heavy paper about how to drop spin. I understand it because I have been watching a lot of videos. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars (I'd have done 4.5 if I could have) was the fact that there are so many beautiful types of wool to try but none of them are labeled in any way to know what they are. As a beginner that doesn't know my Merino from my Jacob or my Bluefaced Leicester Humbug it would have been very helpful to know which one is which.

The wool is quite and soft and clean and the drop spindle is a much better one than i purchased the same day on amazon from another seller. Thank you so much for creating such a nice boxed product :)p.s. for those who don't already know how to use it- there is instructions in the box and you can easily find videos online

What a beautiful kit? The wool from the different sheep is soft and ready to spin. The directions are well written and I found easy to follow. I will definitely look forward to ordering from them again

I love the packaging and the things inside. The issue I have? The instructions. If this is supposed to be for beginners, it’s not. The instructions don’t include definitions, enough pictures, or anything that makes it so you don’t have to go elsewhere to figure out the act of spinning the yarn. I really was hoping to learn from this kit alone. Nope. YouTube videos or something else will have to be my guide because the instructions here use terms I don’t understand and not enough of the actual process and what the heck she’s talking about to make anything possible other than to recognize that there’s roving in the box, and the main tool. Yup. Disappointment all around. And, now I’m on her mailing list for more stuff despite not teaching me the most important thing! Why would I need more roving or supplies when I can’t do the basics???! Ugh.

Love this. Got it as a beginners kit to learn to spin. The instructions were okay, but as with many crafts unless you already have an idea of what spinning looks like you should look up several instructional videos.

It’s a nice basic kit to get started. I do recommend supplementing the instructions provided with YouTube videos. The roving is soft and of a high quality. The spindle is basic, and once I glued the whorl back on, very sturdy. I only reduced a star because whorl came loose and needed to be reattached.
