These series never disappoint! I’ve purchased a few from the line for inspirational references, and the character designs are top notch!

This Book has a lot of different characters to give you an idea of how different characters are started,

Let me start by saying this book is amazing. I love the break down that each Artists provides when creating their characters. I bought the first book (Heroines) which was equally as good. However something is missing. Black Artists. Though each book has a dash of diversity, neither include any professional Black Artists. Which is a bummer as well as strange seeing how each book has a total of 50 Artists. Maybe something 3dtotal can fix in the future. L

I love draw fantasy characters. You much have it if you are fantasy character designer. Full of inspiration. Also great way to create your own portfolio. It has 50 character design theme and 50 artist attempt to create one character. So you will have 50 style, 50 ways to draw character.

Having picked up the Heroines book of this series, my hopes were high for this book.Unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver.The quality of the book is good. Nice print on thick paper. There's a lot going on. 50 artists have contributed content so you're getting a lot of art for what you pay.On the downside, some of the artists have either phoned it in or just never seen a movie. A couple of the designs were straight up ripped off of films or other character designs already out in the world. The Snow Queen and Maui stand out in my memory for this in particular. Others were just...really generic.I suppose it was a good showcase of the artists' thought processed behind coming to a particular design but it was clear some of them hadn't been thinking particularly hard about it either.
