The Paleo Kids Cookbook: Transition Your Family to Delicious Grain- and Gluten-free Food for a Lifetime of Healthy Eating

Not what I expected
I don't like the idea of making separate dinners for my kids. I'd rather them just get used to eating the way we eat. The chicken nuggets were so hard to swallow that my kids were gagging. She uses too much potato and tapioca for me to consider these "paleo." It's kind of like recipes for semi-paleo junk food. Eat too much of these junk food items & you negate the whole benefit of eating paleo.

Better than I thought!
To be honest when I first got this cookbook I was disappointed. I didn't think there were enough vegetables incorporated and was mostly "paleo junk food". But after having cooked a few of the recipes I have changed my mind because they have all come out great and kids have loved them! That tells me the recipes were well tested and tried and true for this cookbook and I'm excited to try more with the kids!

It's OK Depending Where You Live
I wanted to love this but I live in Ukraine and this book doesn't work for me because I don't have access to the ingredients. Pretty much everything in the book contains cassava, arrowroot or tapioca flour. These are not things easily found in my country or extremely expensive. Because of that, I was limited to the beverage section, bone broth, fresh fruit, and fresh vegetables.I tried following some of the recipes using variations but my 7-year-old daughter hated everything. I'm a pretty good cook and she typically eats healthy. So, either the recipes are not very good or the substitutions didn't work well. Either case, waste of money for us. It seems that Googling recipes would be better for me.Also, it is not a kid book, unless the author means for like 12+ to read on their own.I gave 2 stars because it had nice pictures, the recipes seemed easy enough to follow. It shipped quickly as well.

Disappointed and regretting my purchase
I was so excited for this book, but it really let me down. I know this is for kids, but it all seems very heavy and "junk food" like. So much fried food and potato. I just wouldn't feel good giving most of that food to my children (not all, but most). There were a handful that looked somewhat promising. Another thing to note is that many of the ingredients are pretty obscure and can't be found at a regular grocery store. I have been paleo for years and haven't ever found it so hard to follow paleo recipes as when cooking out of this book. I am just very disappointed and regret buying it.

Great for Baby Led Weaning (and husbands!)
This is my favorite Paleo cookbook-- for kids or adults! My 11 month old loves everything I've made for her and I know she'll have fun helping me make these recipes when she's a little older. The Legit Sandwich bread is the best Paleo bread I've made-- and I've tried a dozen or so recipes. The chicken nuggets are delicious and a great texture. I make the quesadillas every other day for lunch for her (and often for me too!) My husband is crazy about the Parsnip Fries too. Please buy this book if you have kids or are doing baby led weaning. I can't say enough good things about it!

Recipes cover a broad range of kid friendly comfort type foods.
I haven’t made any of the recipes. But the ones I have looked over are what I was looking for when I bought this cookbook, foods that will appeal to my family’s pallet and fit my dietary needs. I don’t think they are the healthiest, I agree with other comments that the recipes are a little anemic in the vegetable realm. But I can always serve a side dish so I am not worried. My children are 16-11 years old, they are way beyond chicken nuggets as a staple. Sometimes we all have a craving for the types of foods that we are used to from youth, pre-Paleo days.

Thank you Jennifer!
We absolutely love this book! My son is celiac and can not tolerate any amount of grain and soy. It's hard to find cook books that meet the needs for children. This book is a life saver. The legit bread recipe is worth buying the book alone. This book is used daily!!! It stays on the counter top. Pointless to bother putting it away.

Love this!
Love this!!!! Jennifer is so creative and her recipes are so easy. I have never had one turn out poorly and I don't measure carefully. The legit bread, Mac and cheese and poptarts are my toddlers favorites but they've gobbled down everything I've made even when I add extra veggies! Love that the recipes are school friendly (nut free) Thank you Jennifer for making my life easier!

Like Comfort Food? This Paleo Cookbook is for you!
This cookbook is AMAZING!! I know it says for kids but it's really it's for anyone who loves comfort food. So everyone! We don't have kids but I've made the cookie recipe in here 3 times in the couple weeks I've had it, the crispy mustard Brussel sprouts were delicious and the French sticks were divine. I can't believe that everything in this book can taste this good for being gluten, nut and dairy free. I would definitely recommend this book--even if it was just for the LEGIT bread recipe. It's by far the best gluten free bread I've ever had and the fact that it's made without nuts makes it a staple in our home. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Awesome cookbook!
Love this cookbook. Gave it to my daughter for xmas. Was a bit worried it was for younger kids but My 14yr old daughter is having a great time making recipes from it on her own. They are easy and very tasty!

Good book needing extraordinary ingredients
Very good paleo book with regular food but needs a cupboard full of unusual ingredients. You can of course collect them gradually but this limits the number of recipes you can do. If you buy them all at once it's very expensive, not quite what I hoped for but still a good book.
