Schiffer Publishing Airstreams: Custom Interiors

This book highlights about five of David Winick's trailers and it is essentially a picture book. Nearly all of the text is in the form of photo caption. It should hold interest to Airstream enthusiasts, and clearly David Winick is a detail-oriented craftsman when it comes to trailer restoration/refurbishment. However, the photos is the book are generally very poor quality. It almost looks as if they're misprinted they're so out-of-focus, but the text is crisp, as are some of the photos. In reality, they're just very poor quality (presumably antiquated cell-phone quality) photos. There is nothing in this book you cannot see by just Googling "David Winick Airstream" and clicking on "images". In the book they're printed beyond the limit of their resolution. The book, honestly, deflates my impression of David Winick as it seems like it's just a means of taking people's money, but it does not deliver a quality product. I only wish he had put as much attention to detail into the book as he seems to put into his trailers. Very disappointed.

It has a nice collection of photos from Airstream's files of some of their best products, plus photos and descriptions of the author's work. The custom renovation work shown is very practical for a travel trailer. The photos of the renovated trailers vary in quality and are sometimes disturbingly fuzzy or perspective-distorted. For inspiration, it's definitely worth having this book if you're going to do your own renovation, as I am, but don't expect to see in this book custom-yacht level of quality photos or work.
