But after having these for several years, I find that they are far superior than most leather belts sold today. These are far stronger than leather and the belt buckle, although very plain is made of a strong reinforced nylon polymer. The durability is fantastic. These days, most so called leather belts are made of either a poor quality of leather, over tanned to make them soft or laminated with a type of cardboard. These newer leather ones in my mind are garbage. The ones made prior to 1980 were quite good and last for ever.
