Detective Vienna Connection

If you liked the Detective line of games from the same publisher, or if spy thrillers are your jam, this game is for you! Playing this game feels like you were cast in the role of a cold war era spy and everything is riding on your shoulders. The game has a unique storyline that starts off with a very innocuous case that turns into something much larger and impactful by the end. This is a story-driven game, so I'll avoid spoilers, but I can tell you that if you enjoy the spy genre, the entire game is worth it.If you've played the Detective series of games, this uses a similar core mechanic and play-loop from that series but also brings more gamification to the system. Timing of actions and resource management is much more important in Vienna Connection. The theme and storytelling (writing) are oozing out of every card, page, and envelope. Tying together all the seemingly unconnected events and figuring out who is involved is an absolute blast. I can't recommend this game enough!

Choosing the path for more leads, piecing together files and evidence to solve ciphers, and getting the best possible ending. Felt your actions have weight against time and your deductions will help create the story. Easy to learn after testing out the first chapter.

I enjoy the theme of the game and the files and cards really put you in the story. But there is a glaring production error that significantly damages the game. On Mission 3 there are a number of cards with no connecting links. Significant elements of the story are inaccessible in game because they forgot to provide options and plot events that would provide connections to these cards. And the cards are important enough for the error to be egregious. The mission can be technically completed without these cards but you miss out on significant files and plot points and the mission ending will require guesswork if you don't in effect cheat.

Interesting game as it is based on true events and is real names.

I love this game! I love to read spy, mystery and suspence novel, this game is perfect for me. Its like you get to put yourself in the story and your choices matter. It wasnt hard to figure out the way to play. I hope they make more like this!
