Perfect for an early years Honda E to give you a much higher opening hatch. This is my second set. The first didn’t last super long, about 2 years but they are very inexpensive and my mechanic will pop the on free of charge when I’m in for an oil change. It’s possible that the weight of the hatch is much more than it would be if it were being used on a VW like they were intended for so maybe they wear out a little sooner. At any rate, we love them and we went from getting smacked on the scalp by a heavy hatch that wouldn’t hold up when removing groceries, to almost having our heads taken off when it flies up. LOLOL Not gonna lie, I’ve been whacked on the chin a couple times but they are so great for camping that I’m here for it. LOLOne caveat on a Honda, which shouldn’t be a problem if you are tall to tall-ish, the hatch door is way up there and firm to push down, so you will need a little reach the close it. We are tall so it’s rarely an issue, but if on the smaller side, you may want to finish your unloading trips and then come back to close it with empty arms.

I never thought I would be able to walk behind my Element with the hatch up and not hit my head. These are great and they are holding up well. I've been using them for about a year and they show no signs of wear. I'm really happy with these.

Work great in my Honda element, much more usable height to the back lift now. A little stiffer to close but not difficult. Just noticeable.

Lifted the hatch of my 07 Element another 4 inches and now I don't hit my head anymore. Nice!

From a mechanic's perspective these look like a decent pair of struts. But pay no attention to the description like many other struts they're just pulling numbers out of their ass. The extended length of these struts is 18 in. If it says it fits your vehicle I'm sure it will but for Builders out there if you're looking for certain extended lengths and compressed length the description is way off.

Great set of lift supports, fit our 2000 VW new beetle perfectly. Easy to install, I did it by myself but I could see having a second person to hold up the hatch. One lift is not strong enough to hold up the hatch. Good luck.
