Exactly what I wanted goes on well and dries very fast , I didn't know there were different Finishes on gloss ,So the First black gloss I bought ( from another seller & different brand) dried more like undercoat than a gloss and not the finish I wanted , You can't exactly return paint once opened so although I was out of pocket I gave it to my Neighbour and Thankfully I found this seller had exactly the paint needed with a lovely finish.would Recommend

Beautiful, glossy finish.
Love this paint. The finish is beautiful, very glossy. It flows out very well and is easy to use. It takes a long time to dry but I like that.

Possibly the WORST gloss you can buy
No matter what surface, what prep or what primer this always dried like a sheet of thin plastic, it always runs and it always peels, infact you only have to rub it with your finger and it starts to come off like an eraser to pencil....then it will pull off as a whole sheet if loose when dried. It never hardens solid like the old glosses used to either it stays soft and damages very easy. Spend the extra money and get a good one because in all our years of painting this stuff has created 3 jobs out of 1......

Outstanding Paint
Having found another well-known brand I used to use has become more difficult to apply and yellowed very quickly, I moved to Johnstones. What a difference, easy to apply with excellent coverage and colour-fastness.

Easy to mix- dried within hours!
Really good paint- easy to mix up and easy to apply- dried within a couple of hours. Had to use a couple of coats for my wood doors.

Fine In The Short Term, Not So Much After 1 Year
I decided to wait a year before writing a review, primarily to see how good this paint really is in terms of durability; and I have to say I am quite disappointed! Just over 12 months ago I decided to use this paint on my 3 bedroom doors and door-frames. The original application was easier enough, with few drips. Just used straight out of the tin and apply - and the finished result looked really look good, especially in contrast to doors and door frames yet to be painted! However, after about 5 or 6 months I noticed some very gradual fade on two of those doors. Perhaps because they're directly in front of my landing window, which is south-facing, and is thus subject to the sun's full glare during the spring and summer months. Perhaps it as was the sunlight that caused the doors to fade. But by the end of 2016 the other door also began to turn a familiar kind of yellow - and this door was well away from direct sunlight - and both sides too! So I decided to paint one of the door frames again with the same tin of paint. And straight away I could notice the contrast between the brilliant white of the new application compared to the coat I put on 12 months previously! I guess I get what I paid for, although I expected better from Johnstone's if its trade reputation is anything to go by!

Excellent paint.
Best paint I have ever used. It goes on really well and the coverage is excellent, only needed one coat on any colour I covered. Will be buying the white gloss next. 5 stars.
