Thrifty comfort
This makes for an adequate cushion for stretches of standing, particularly if you're not committed to the notion of standing in the same spot indefinitely. As I am a standing desk dilettante, this is a cheap pad to use while I decide between being the kind of person who has serious talks about ergonomics or the kind who slowly melts into a chair. If you work someplace standing in one spot all day without your employer providing a padded surface to stand on, you should get something nicer. If you know you need a stealth bomber, you don't get the Hyundai Accent. If you're not sure you even need to travel, you get something cheap (and potentially used via the Warehouse deals site, scroll down to the bottom) until you're certain you need it. This is inexpensive enough to just throw away if your experiment doesn't work, but it's also the right thickness and grippiness to make for a durable drawer mat if you can find shears sturdy enough to cut through the rubber. (Don't throw things like this away. It's bad for Gaia the Earth Mother and it makes the blonde girl from Captain Planet cry a little every time you refuse to reuse or recycle.)This thing is bright blue. Pool cover blue. Child's drawing of the ocean blue. Aggressively blue. It's got a pebbled texture and the barest of bevels along the edges. It's not winning any beauty contests, but I can't imagine anyone entering it into one. It's blue, rectangular, and the edges slope to meet the floor (less like a beveled edge/more like the die-press they use to cut these just happens to squish the sides down permanently.)It's not terribly thick, but it does provide another halfish inch of cushion between your feet and the floor. Which, it turns out, is enough to eke out another couple of hours standing in the same spot. It's definitely nicer on tile or wood than carpet, but it's helpful on all three surfaces.Get it if you're not sure you need it. Don't rely on it for looks unless you're rocking a Roy Lichtenstein palette. It's a great starter mat, and tiny people might be able to yoga on it.

Hardly the prettiest, but works great
After using this mat at a home office for about a year, I bought a second mat for the office about a month ago. I use the mat at a standing desk at both home and now at the office. This mat enormously reduced foot strain and swelling that came from standing barefoot on hardwood floors at home. It is superior to any other rugs or foam mats I've used (e.g., yoga mats and similar). Although time and experience makes standing easier, I don't think I could stand to work all day (up to 8 hours a day) without this mat. I've recommended it to several others. My only real concern is that the mat is very bright and not particularly attractive. It looks like something you would find on a factory assembly line which, indeed, seems to be what it was designed for. The description says royal blue but both my mats were an unambiguously neon blue. The picture doesn't capture some its plastic-like sheen. I've had comments that it was ugly. You might be able to put a little rug over it? I haven't tried.I use a chair on the mat when I'm tired of standing and the chair definitely puts large visible dents in. After a period of time (10 minutes, perhaps?) these dents have always disappeared.

Decent antifatigue mat
I use this on my boat for long runs offshore. It helps reduce the vibration from the motors and impacts from rough water. I solely fish offshore and it has held up well in the saltwater, bloody decks and intense UV sunlight. When I get back from fishing I rinse it off and lay it out to dry. My only criticism of this product would be that it slides a little too easily. The material seems like it would stick very well on many surfaces, but on a fiberglass deck it tends to shift around a bit. No big deal, and for the price I would highly recommend it. The cushioning is about 3/8 thick.

great for standing barefoot for long periods
I recently converted my desk to a standing set up with just a few platforms. I was standing barefoot or in sandals on the carpet (on top of concrete) for a while before I folded up a yoga mat (sixfold) and used that. That was an improvement for short-term comfort, but after a few minutes, my feet sink through and the pressure points basically feel through the yoga mat. My feet would still hurt everyday.I bought this this week and it is a huge improvement over the folded up yoga mat. It has a similar-ish feel in terms of cushion, but is thicker and much more firm and substantial. My feet don't sink straight through, I can feel the padding. One side is textured and the other side is smooth with some writing on it. I figured the smooth side with writing is the slip resistant bottom side. This is only my second week with the standing desk set up, so my feet/legs and I are still getting accustomed to standing all day, but this mat is letting me stand for twice as long before. I don't have any experience with competing products, but these do the job for me. Royal blue doesn't match anything in my room, but I don't mind. This product is really about utility more than anything else. That said, it's not an eyesore (like the bright orange yoga mat I was using).last note: 2ftx3ft is pretty big for one person to stand on, you can easily fold it in half and get a double/thick padding. If you can get past the color, I highly recommend this antifatigue mat for all long-term standing applications.
