The 18 gauge cord says it can take 10 amps, and the 14 gauge says it can take 15 amps. You just need to match your cord to the power draw of whatever you're plugging in. For example, if you're going to power two PCs with 500w power supplies, you're okay with the 18 gauge (1000w / 120v = 8.3 amps of max current draw). **Q: Is this UIL listed?** A: not UIL but mine had UL stamp **Q: I'd like to know: what diameter strain relief I should use with these? Thanks.** A: Not sure you need any strain relief. The cable is very flexible and has a bend radius of 2 to 3 inches, so you can easily include a strain loop of say 6 inches diameter into the cable.
