My neighbors placed a bird feeder, bird bath and bird house about 2 ft from our white privacy fence. It caused hundreds of birds and squirrels to land and climb on the fence. We had to constantly scrub and wash the fence. Just in case you didn't know it, as a Retired Respiratory Therapist I'm aware of the many airbornerespiratory disease caused by bird droppings. Since installing the spikes on the top of our fence, there hasn't been a single bird land or a squirrel climb on it. I know this because we have surveillance cameras and can see there are no birds landing on the fence at any time. They arrived on time and were very easy to install. We live in a very, very windy area and all the sections installed held up very well and none of them blew off. Now that winter is on its way, it will be interesting to see how well they hold up in the cold and snow. I highly recommend them and will buy them again if need be.

Give them time to work .I guesss the birds finally got tired of being uncomfortable on the spikes and quit coming after about a week.I had to stack a couple on top each other so there was no space for them to sit on top of.

Every year, I have to battle the squirrels to keep them away from my peach harvest. I have one tree in my backyard and squirrels will jump in tree eat some, and knock many others out of the three. This year I created a circular perimeter around the base of my peach tree and it did seem to deter the squirrels. I believe that some squirrels did manage to get through, but seems to be greatly reduced from previous years.

This produce did absolutely nothing. When I installed it, the birds used it as a massage device. Honestly, the bird who was giving me the problem called all of his bird buddies and they had a spa day on these "spikes". The birds were crawling all over these spikes and having a grand old time. If you need a door stop, this product would be great. If you're trying to deter birds, however, the only way it's helpful is if you use it to beat yourself over the head and pass out before you see the flocks of new birds coming to your window.

Doesn't work on squirrels. Squirrels can still stand on it.

We have been dealing with about five to six cats that come into our yard for six years. They are destructive and use our yard as their personal litter box. About two years ago, we started putting these up and using the cat scratch mats on the ground. But they wear down. So, we decided to purchase these again. There are some differences that I like. The material is stronger and flexible. We tape them to the top of the fence line where the cats come in the most. We tape to the upper side of the block fence where they attempt to jump up or down. And at the bottom we have cat scratch mats. You can bend these over the block fence post caps and adhere with double sided tape. We use Alien tape. You do not have to cut. If you bend at the line, they snap right off. The downside is the cost. We have a very large yard and it took a lot to get the coverage we needed. But in the long run, it pays off. Now we are down to stopping one cat from getting into our yard. None of this is lethal and will not harm the cats. But it does teach a very good lesson if you fall on it.

I got these because we have backyard cats and they love to use my planters for litter boxes and other planters they will completely disregard my plants and just lay wherever in them. They are really inconsiderate cats and they should be glad I'm not leaving them a review - although I doubt they would care. Anyway, these are working great and actually blend in with the mulch from a distance. I just placed a few in each planter to make it less appealing. All my potted plants are now spiked and cat free. Also, it's a super quick fix....5 minutes and I distributed the whole box of spikes. I like that they have a kind of perforation on each strip that makes it easy to bend and cut to fit.
