Since the 2 batteries are 12vdc wired in parallel, this is possibly simply by soldering wires to either (+) and (-) of the battery terminals. Only need to drill a small hole in the back mounting base in order to pass the wire through. This works way better than having a battery in there that not only needs periodic replacing, if you dont replace it often enough, it will corrode and eat away the battery terminals. Happens all the time with salt water environments!
