Unboxing the plugs after delivery I found them still vibrant green and only a little expected yellowing. I ordered these plugs 3 times and each time they all appeared the same. They must ship on Mondays bc I always received them on Wednesday. I live in NC and these ship from Florida. After arrival I took out 4 flats, 18 plugs in each flat totaling 72 beautifully, Large 2x2 plugs and watered them. I was able to take my time planting these and did not lose any after 2 weeks. They started growing immediately and after 1 week they already had runners or stalons. After one month the growth was fast and some stalons were 6 inches long. I planted the first box 12-18 inches apart and realized that these plugs can be cut in half doubling the number of plugs easily without harming the plant. Water these plugs everyday and follow the instructions and you will have grass growing in no time. The plugs are so much prettier in person. Great purchase and I will definitely order from this seller again.

The plugs were nice and green when they arrived. They were in good shape, healthy with no yellowing or drought stress. It took me a few weeks to plant them but with consistent watering they survived nicely in the tray. They just went into the ground and have been watered so lets see what happens. I will say I checked other sites for Palmetto St Augustine a month later and many had much better values out there. Hancock Seed Co would ship me 64 plugs for $109.99 and free shipping, so that's 10 additional plugs for $20 less. These also are not Prime so returns or help with the order is at the seller's discretion.

Though these may work in some lawns, they were a total mismatch for ours. This grass is a course, broad blade that doesn’t resemble our finer Northeast lawn blades. Nevertheless, we gave it a go and planted them around our lawn’s barer areas. In the end we were so disappointed we dug them up and tossed them in the mulch pile. Not returnable at that point, it was a total loss for us.

This was my 2nd purchase of Palmetto plugs. I was very pleased with the plugs that came in my first order. As a consequence, I placed a second order. The product came slightly ahead of the scheduled delivery date which was great. However, on opening the shipping carton, I realized that almost half of the roots of the plugs were dead. And so was the grass. I did not return it because I needed only a few of the plugs to complete my project. I could use the good ones. That being said, the priciple was that I received a product that was not in good condition and satisfactory to me. It should not have been shipped.
