Ghostbusters (Ghostbusters)

If there's something weird and it don't look good
Our 6-year old has recently developed a new interest; ghostbusters. He has seen the movies and he is blessed with some attractive ghostbuster toys. And we are being treated on his vocal version of the Ghostbuster tune .. all day long..I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this Ghostbuster Golden Book that will ease up the bed time reading sequence. And the book is an excellent addition and welcome variation to his growing library. We have many Golden Books already, the classic ones, many Start Wars titles and more recently Superheroes. As always, you can count on a very concise but to the point story line and a limited amount of text - i.e. perfect for bed time reading. And as always with these hard cover Golden Books the colourful illustrations are excellent.I’ve read it to him several times now and he can’t get enough.

If you were a fan of the 80s classic movie Ghostbusters you'll love this book
If you were a fan of the 80s classic movie Ghostbusters and fancied having a book that represents the film, then here you are! The book is marketed at children but I can see quite a few fans of the movie or 80s kids wanting this book too.The plot is that of the movie, four ghostbusters trying to save New York from all the ghostly happenings that have been occurring lately, as well as Peter trying to save his love interest Dana from the clutches of Gozer. The story is very short but the author has managed to include most of the main scenes from the movie. The artwork is spectacular and illustrator Alan Batson has certainly captured the essence of the movie in artform.I enjoyed the book and I am now looking at the other 80s movies that have been turned into books – feels strange to say in that way around. I think this book would be wonderful for children and grown-ups. It would also make a great Secret Santa or small Christmas present if you are looking for ideas, especially as at the time of writing this book was under £4.00.

Who you gonna call?
I got the ET book too - basically I'm a man-child trying to overlay my desire to relive my childhood onto my four year old sons reading list! However....he actually loves Ghostbusters - and he's a smart kid who isn't afraid to tell me when he thinks something is garbage. I think the appeal to a little kid is these guys zap ghosts, and if like me you've ever been a little boy wondering what lives under the bed, thats pretty reassuring. Oh, and slimer - everybody loves slimer...

Great book but….
A great illustration and concise story. Perfect for any young ghostbusters fans (such as much son who is 4).My only issue with the book is despite the effort taken with the rest of the book, the cover just feels like a bit a scrap cardboard they have slapped on it. Not like other children’s hardback books.Admittedly this will not be noticed by my son but it’s a bit of a downer on what is overall an excellent book!

Better than expected
Our 4 year old is just getting into Ghostbusters and likes all things spooky and I came across this book by chance on here and glad I brought it - his face lit up when he saw it! It isn't too long but it does have some long words which won't mean anything to him, so I do miss a couple of words out to keep his attention. It tells the story of the first Ghostbusters film, in a very compact way. Colourful too. We have others in this Little Golden Books range.
