THE GOSPEL OF LUKE W/FRANCIS HOGAN EWTN NETWORK 2-DISC DVD

I first saw some segments of these DVDs on EWTN and was astounded by the freshness and immediacy of Frances Hogan's finely detailed examination of this gospel I thought was so familiar to me. Ms. Hogan is a true scholar of the history surrounding Luke's account, and she finds so much more in the text that listening to her is like following a good detective. She is also a charming speaker with a ready smile. I bought this twice as a gift for people I love.

Frances Hogan (Frances spelled with an "es" at the end and not an "is") has two different studies of the book of Luke. This is the one about the Christmas story and it is filmed in front of a class in South Africa. It's not what I thought I was ordering, which is a study of the whole book of Luke, which has recently been airing on EWTN, called "St. Luke's Gospel", filmed in her home in Ireland. There are three seasons worth of that one so far. But this would be nice for Christmastime.
