Other than the plastic...sigh.It’s balanced, light, comfortable, works well, has a good eraser, and is attractive.I have bought a number of higher-end mechanical pencils (I try hard to avoid plastic goods for Earth’s sake), but this one is still my favorite.

I have had some trouble with some of the older type Pentel mechanical pencils (called Pentel Sharps), in that after a while they will not start feeding a new lead.This style mechanism has worked well for me. I have used a number the Pentel T3, with the clickerr on the side of the barrel (http://www.amazon.com/PENPD247A-PENCIL-AUTO-TECH-T3-BLACK/dp/B001B5ZCV0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396718815&sr=8-1&keywords=pentel+pencil+T3), but the non-retracktable sharp point made in not a good idead for carrying in a pocket.This pencil I have been using daily for about a month and liked it well enough to buy another. I like the refill cartridge, which is convenient (though a bit more expensive) and I think will work more reliably that just feeding in a bunch of leads by hand.The docing mechanism works quite well, so I can carry it in a pants pocket without worrying that it will poke a hole in my pocket or me!I also like the adjustable eraser--just twist it to expose more eraser.Highly recommended.

I love this pencil. Have given several away because someone used it and loved it. Cannot find in the stores. Have to order online. But worth it.

Excellent construction, feel and smoothness to write.

I have used these pencils for a couple of years. They are a great value and the lead lasts such a long time. You can get refills for them too. for me , it is the best mechanical pencil I have used. I reccomend them highly.

I own 2 pairs of these pencils. the first one i got from rite aid a few months back and i loved it. Feels great, my go to pencil for note taking. The reason i felt like i needed a new pencil was because the eraser was becoming a nuisance when erasing and it no longer looked nice. The Twist would skip a notch going down to a lower level. But since i used this pencil so much, I already knew i had to get this pencil once again. So i ordered the pencil from AMAZON ( the dealer was amazon not some 3rd party seller). Used it for about 2 months and i get frustrated all the time. The lead keeps breaking! i know for a fact its not the lead because i only use Pentel hi-polymer 0.7 lead. because the little metal point at the bottom keeps riding up and when i write, the lead would break. im not sure if this is a defect in this specific pencil or whatever. i am really upset because this pencil was pricey. 2 times more than what i spent at rite aid.

The pencil is well-designed. The grip made this pencil comfortable to write. I also like how the tip is retractable.However, putting lead refills was a bit of a hassle. To put the lead in the refill cassette, I had to get a small to open the cassette so I put the lead in rather than buying a new one in the event that there is no more lead.
