Prettiest

I read The Prettiest a few nights ago. After a bit, I couldn't put it down and had to stay up past my bedtime until I finished it. I found it very compelling and not a little suspenseful. Bravo!!! All the characters were interesting and well developed and the resolution was surprising and satisfying. I wish I had had this book when I was young or when my daughter was young. I highly recommend it.

I loved this book and could not put it down. I'm not a middle schooler (I'm 34!) and enjoyed the book just the same. The story itself is a gripping page turner, full of plot surprises, poignant moments and multi-faceted characters that remind you that people can learn and change for the better. It's honestly a book that should be required reading for everyone, not just middle-school girls, as one might assume from the cover. I also read Brigit Young's first novel Worth A Thousand Words, and loved every bit of that.

as a sixth grader, I enjoyed reading this book for many reasons. one reason being that it was built around the fact that, “you are NOT a number” specifically targeting young girls, or tweens I guess. I’d definitely recommend this book to all. it was a beautiful book, in total!😊😊

My daughter finished this in a day. She loved it.

Just right for teens, such a great and inspiring story line. Love Love love. Also very easy to relate to the characters!

This book captures middle school perfectly. The writing kept my 10 year old enthralled. It's just salacious enough with crushes and mean girl dynamics. The book's message was perfect for a tween. We had some great discussions after reading this book together. I highly recommend this book.

While this book is aimed at middle grade reader, as an adult, I found the story captivating, insightful and entertaining. The characters are interesting and complex and the overall message of the book is so necessary. I wish I had heard this message when I was 12. Can't wait to pass this on to all of the middle grade reader I know.

I gotta be real here. I wasn’t exactly sure I would like this one. I mean, for real. I’m 𝑑𝑒𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝗻𝗼𝘁 the prettiest. But, I was excited to learn of a new-to-me author and get a refreshing break with a middle grade read. The results? So much more than I imagined! This is a magnificently written novel about how things can be in middle school now. How girls aren’t seen as just an equal classmate.....they are seen as objects for more than just friendships.Young’s characters are perfectly chiseled with flaws and quirks. Their stories are very real issues in today’s society. As a mom of teenage boys, I wouldn’t know what these young girls are going through, but as a woman who was once a young girl, I felt every emotion they did as if it was my own. The fear of the unknown if you don’t speak up, the heartache of not being the top person on the objectified list of prettiest girls.......the heartache of sexualization. It was all a very real issue and the way Young’s characters evolved from it all, was wonderful to watch!This book is one that I recommend every person read, especially if you have a middle school aged daughter, niece or granddaughter. The pages will turn, you’ll fall in love with Eve, Nessa, and Sophie, along with all the other greatly perfected characters, and you’ll be thanking Young for creating a beautifully written, epically powerful novel that makes you want more.*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Publisher and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*

I'm not sure why but my daughter was not keen on this book

I bought this for my 13 yr old granddaughter who has no interest in reading. I've tried many books in the past, this is the first book outside of school that's she's read for pleasure. She has ADHC so has trouble concentrating.Now ordered this authors other books as she wants to read them all!

I loved this book! It was very intresting and I could not put it down. I read it in 1 sitting and thoroughly enjoyed ever bit of it! A must buy.
