BauerfeindGenuTrain S - Hinged Knee Brace Support - Advanced Stability of the knee joint

Excellent product, well made. AND, IT DOES REQUIRE SPECIFYING THE ORDER FOR RIGHT OR LEFT KNEE. I twisted my knee 5 weeks ago and it progressively got worse. First, pain just below the knee cap while climbing stairs. Two weeks later I had to shovel mud off a steep driveway and wheel barrow the muck (twisting my body and legs), all of which exacerbated the injury and pain on the inside and out side the knee with swelling. Now there was pain walking down hill and stair climbing was one step at a time without placing any stress on the injured leg, any length of time on the leg caused minor swelling. After three weeks of suffering I bought the Genu Train leg brace after doing a couple of hours on-line research and talked to my brother who had multiple knee injuries (off road motor cycle & basket ball) and surgeries. I received it promptly in 4 days, exactly what I ordered! I couldn't believe how well it supported my knee, not by feel or limited motion, I didn't really notice any motion limitations, but how little pain and no swelling there was at the end of the day...just after twelve hours! I have been using it for two weeks, at home and on the job (construction). I have to be cautious on uneven ground, limit load carrying, body twisting, balance and squatting/kneeling. I even was able to wear knee pads one whole day on the job while kneeling on concrete and drain rock. At home I can go up and down the stairs with normal steps with or with out the brace, and without pain. I'm impressed with design, manufacture, fit and comfort, it is well made and performs as promised. I see no problem in wearing the brace the next 2 to 4 months as my knee heals. Incredible support - love the brace and would be a 5 star easy except that the hinges started squeeking after just the second use. Squeeking pretty loudly as I run on city streets in los angeles and the squeeking is constant and annoying. Going to write to the company and see if there is any lubrication I can add or if its a defect - but it didnt seem like the hinges were accessable so we'll see.

I've used this product when needed over the last two months. It is comfortable and durable. It is designed to be adjustable by heating the side brace pieces and bending them to contour to your knee. That is an important feature, but for me the product fit well without needing to be adjusted. As this is a therapeutic product tailored to specific injury or conditions, one needs to consult with an appropriate medical provider prior to purchasing to ensure they get the correct product for their condition. I purchased the product after consulting with a physical therapist. Many of the bad reviews I've seen with the product had to do with poor fit. Follow the measuring procedures stated by Bauerfeind before ordering and I strongly suggest working with a PT or other rehabilitation specialist to be sure it is finely adjusted for your condition. It is expensive, but worth it.

Sleeves should have some kind of tightness vs size data. I ordered two size bigger, yet it was too tight. Keep in mind that overtight can act as a turniquet. Not a good idea. So would have enough padding to achieve better skin contact. Also address the folds of the material behind the knee when bent. The resulting bulge is like a stick behind a bent knee. This is because designers do not try their products long term.

I have to say hat it works well it js easy to put on and off by myself, which is very important due to the fact that I have parkinsons'.it is very comfortable to wear fir long periods of time, it stabilizes my knee and allows me to use walker with little fear of my knee folding up under me. I'd recommend this product to anyone with mild to sever knee problems.it also does not fall down t due its unique holding strapping with Velcro ends that hold it onto your leg

The brace fits great and feels amazing. The only issue is there isn’t a way to adjust the hinge to prevent my hypertension problem. I’m going to return it and look for something more suitable for my issues.

When I slip on my Bauerfeind GenuTrain S Knee Support, I feel like I can jump & fly! :-) It really gives me great support while playing racquetball 4 nights a week. I feel very secure and confident my knee won't be damaged while twisting, turning, and bending with GenuTrain. Plus, my kneed does not swell up with water during or after playing. It's a bit pricey, and my knee is well worth a lot more!

Good support for hypermobile knees, but braces will not stay in place and keep sliding down my legs even after tightening the straps as much as possible. They also get dirty relatively quickly and will need to be regularly cleaned, more so than other braces I’ve owned. They also can’t be worn with certain types of pants since you have to slide them on, not strap them. Good product, and I will continue to use them, but I may shop around more when it comes time to replace them.
