Flashpoint Pro Air Cushioned Heavy Duty Boom Light Stand - 13'

Stand is very sturdy, holds light or mic without issue. Light weight enough to move or handle on my own. Set up was easy. I absolutely recommend and buy again if I needed another one.

Not bad for a lightweight light stand, this will be fine for holding up a gopro, or a lightweight strobe. Such as a shoe mount. Do not use this for large studio size lighting strobes. Unless you only intend on sending it up half the normal height, and anchoring it with at least a 10 lb sandbag. I am using it to support a receive antenna for a wireless microphone come out which is only a few ounces. So I am able to extend it all the way, I leave each section nested approximately 6 in. And it is sturdy and reliable. However the clamps that are used to tighten the sections are very stiff. Even when loosened all even when loosened all the they are still quite stiff. It is hard to tell when you have tightened them significantly enough to hold the tripod. I also suggest you always have a few sandbags, at least two 5 lb sandbags. So that you can put the load across the legs more evenly. The system used to prevent the stand from slamming straight down, essentially works like a syringe plunger. As the air is slowly allowed to escape from the very bottom section. The unit will slide down. However a slight scratch gouge or bend will cause the system to leak and fail quickly. Also General wear and tear on the on the plungers will eventually wear out., however this is not bad for a lightweight stand.

Love the air cushioning. Set at nearly full extension, 45-55 degrees with 5 lb counterweight it’s solid as a rock.

This lightstand is an excellent product for the cost. Does everything it should and the included sandbag allows for up to a 30" softbox to be used on teh boom.This product was so impressive I ordered a second onw!

The media could not be loaded.  First let me say that I am not using this tripod for its intended purpose. I purchased this tripod as an economical solution to hold a vertical antenna for use in amateur radio. To that effect this tripod it FANTASTIC! I couldn’t have designed it any better to work for my application. Other purpose built tripods are much more expensive than this, and not nearly as light. This seems decently made and should have no trouble holding up in my use case. The bag that it comes with is very useful and also seems well made. It has the added benefit of giving me somewhere to store the whips for the antenna. The air cushioned extensions work perfectly for me and I love the fact that my antenna doesn’t come slamming down on my fingers when I take it down. I am very pleased with this tripod and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

So far I've pretty much only used this as an extendable pole to hold up one end of an EFHW antenna. I tied the base to the side of a porch, and it's been fantastic. Full extension with no bending, and it's been like that for a couple months. I took it down today for a different project and was shocked to find that, while filled with water (which all came out), everything worked as it should, and nothing was bent. Highly recommend, especially for the money.

I highly recommended this C Stand.All my light stands are Flashpoint. I like keeping things consistent and simple. I don't have them on rollers yet as I am usually shooting in the field. If you are serious about lighting and audio for video production, C Stands are essential.The price is right as is its capability and versatility. It's heavy and sturdy (which is what you want in a C Stand) and can extend in a variety of ways for a variety of applications. I use it as a boom mic stand, attach an a LED video light (with winged 50 inch umbrella or portable beauty dish ), attach my Aputure AL-F7 as a key light for my zoom/web calls, or attach my heavier Interfit Badger 360w (with diffuser) for portrait or abstract photography.The stand is easy to setup/breakdown and store. The carrying case that comes with it with is big and sturdy (well made) which makes it easy to transport. Although all my stands are stored and transported in one large rolling case (Fovitec or Impact), and the C stands fits nicely in the bag.Excellent purchase.

For the price, can’t beat it.
