Beautiful and work well!
We love this set. The grinders adjust as you want them and the shakers are well crafted. The silver caps are a plus!

Great set. Looks good. Quality construction. Reliable.
I picked these up to replace another, smaller set found on Amazon that didn't last a year (the pepper grinder stopped grinding). I was a little concerned that the larger size on these was going to be "too large" in appearance over our stove (which is where I keep them - they match the stainless steel backsplash perfectly), but they look great. Even better, both grinders are performing perfectly and consistently. I can get a nice fine grind from the pepper grinder, or a more coarse grind on demand. At first, I wasn't sure that I really needed or wanted a salt grinder, but as it turns out, having the ability to turn out a couple of turns of finely ground salt has been really nice. This set was worth the extra bit I paid for it. Kudos to the other reviewers that came before and convinced me that this was the direction to go.

Very nice
Gave these as a gift for Christmas but closely examined and tested first. I am very picky with my kitchen tools/gadgets, including when gifting...I personally have the Cole and Mason desmet grinder set (ATK equiptment test winner) and love them still after 4-5 years but my mom wanted the grinder to rest upright to help keep crumbs of the counter and i was happy to find this set. They are nice looking, a great size, glass container, easy to adjust and functions as nicely as i expected. The only thing i would say is the product packaging needs improvement so they don't shift all over in transit; it's poor packaging with little security for the product...nothing was broken or scratched but could have been seeing how they arrived (I expected more from Cole and Mason knowing how my own grinders were packaged - super secure and fancy looking). Overall, dispite the packaging, I would highly recommend.

I'll say that I really like them--seem to be of good quality
Just received these yesterday and have been experimenting with them. First, I'll say that I really like them--seem to be of good quality, good heft, size is perfect--not too big, not too small, not so tall that they're always falling over. They provide everything from a coarse grind down to a very fine grind. Operation is smooth, especially compared to the prepackaged plastic salt and pepper grinders like the ones I buy from Trader Joes here in Arizona. Mechanisms have a life time guarantee according to the packaging but this isn't noted on the product description on Amazon I don't believe--that's unfortunate.I knocked off a star because the following information was not readily available from the Amazon site and should be.Negatives:-Cole and Mason recommends against using Himalayan salt consistently in the salt grinder because it is harder than normal rock salt and it wears the mechanism. This should be noted in the product description on the Amazon site. This is probably true of all of the various ceramic grinders, but Cole and Mason are the only ones willing to be up front about it is my guess. Kudos to them for being honest but this needs to be called out in the product description. Also, they need to be clearer on their web site (see below) when they say, yes you can use it but not every day. What does that mean?-They also recommend against using the colored berries in the pepper grinder. The pepper grinder is a steel grinder, not ceramic, so the colored berries apparently can corrode the mechanism. They recommend a ceramic mechanism for the colored berries. I might have made a different product choice if that had been disclosed. On the other hand, I'm sure there are good reasons to use a steel grinder instead of ceramic for pepper--maybe they should disclose those as well.-The product is manufactured in China, which again should be disclosed in the production information on Amazon. I'll happily pay more for made in the USA or in the UK. Since they're a UK company I had hopes that the product wasn't made in China. Here's the information from the Caring for Your Products section on their web site regarding the colored berries and the Himalayan salt:Can I use pink or red peppercorns in my mill? Red and pink peppercorns come from a berry. They naturally have more liquid so we recommend not using these as it could corrode the mechanism. This also applies to our Kingsley spice mill. Black and white peppercorns are recommended in our pepper mills. If you would like to use pink or red use a mill with a ceramic mechanism or use our pestle & mortar. Can pink Himalayan salt be used in the salt mill? Yes, however this salt has a harder texture than rock salt, we do not recommend using everyday as it will wear the mill mechanism. Do not use in a Nylon Mechanism salt mill.

Great
I had one just like this for 25 years until recently when the pepper mill broke. I was thrilled to find that they still made this model. It works as well as the old one. Twenty-five years is an incredible lifespan for any product.

Stylish, compact and a workhorse
These smaller Cole & Mason Salt & Pepper grinders are stylish and do the job. The pepper grinder is especially good as it can handle hard peppercorns. The Salt grinder handles a variety of salt types with ease. The smaller size with fit well in a compact kitchen and look well on the dining table.

Hard on old arthritic hands
Nice looking and excellent quality especially for a good price. I bought it for those features. Problem is that I have arthritis in my hands and it hurts every time I try to use the grinders. The base is too big to grasp without pain and the turning mechanism is very stiff. Probably will have to but something else.

Perfect Grinders
Finally found a set of salt and pepper grinders that grind the peppercorns fine enough for my taste. The grind is easily adjustable and the set looks beautiful on the table.
