It's like using a pressure cleaning machine, blow off all the carbon, oil and dirt. Dry in seconds. I use it for my gun parts and chainsaws.

3M Brake Cleaner was the only one I would use for many years. Recently, it has been sold out at every local retailer. I was elated to find it for sale on Amazon but the cost of this product cannot be justified. Especially considering that some cans will not spray. AutoZone sells their brand for about $4 a can and it works very well so I will likely never purchase 3M again.

I'm uncertain whether I receive a defect a bottle or the spraying mechanism was NOT well designed. I bought it about five months before this review and it worked fine as a brake cleaner and it had a good spray. Now I tried to use it to clean my brakes and it doesn't spray even though the bottle is almost full. My assumption is that the propellant gas had escaped the hole. I can still get the brake fluid out of it by holding the bottle up-side-down, press the bottle and let gravity do the work, but it's quite annoying. I decided to use WD-40 to clean instead. As a brake cleaner, it's good but it can't squirt after a few months (no sexual joke intended). Would I buy it again or recommended it? Nope.

I use this for cleaning cosmoline off of the parts of military surplus rifles that I collect. It works very quickly to break up grease and oil. Just remember to apply a thin coating of oil to any steel or iron surfaces you clean to ward off rust. A quality product that really does the job...!!!
