These merino low cut socks are the best socks I've found for summer walking - they fit well, don't make your feet too hot and are wonderfully comfortable thanks to the wool mix and cushioned footbed. They also seem to wash and wear well with no shrinkage. They are quite pricey but worth it I think as they are far superior to cotton socks, which can sometimes rub in hot weather. They also get less smelly, which is a bonus. UPDATE July 25: I recently ordered a three pack (black/grey/green) of the lighter weight summer walking socks, which are even better for hot weather. I would point out though that the green pair are like the original low cut socks and have cushioning the entire length of the sole and on top of the foot, whereas the black and grey socks only have cushioning in the heel and toe areas and so are a bit thinner. But this is not really a problem for me as I like both styles.

Comfortable to wear on 7 mile walks

I’m an avid runner, walker and do a variety of sports. Good socks are a must. These socks are high quality and excellent for the price.

Found these socks to be extremely comfortable, on my feet wearing steel toe capped but for 12hrs a day. These helped tremendously with aching fit.Why did you choose this product over others?:Good value

Took these on a 2 week hiking holiday. Wore a pair for day of 2, washed them in sink and dried them on my backpack. LOVE THEM.

Used for multi day hike in Salomon hiking shoes, warm weather. Comfortable to wear over long distances. Does slip slightly, so 4 stars.

OK, but thin material. I was expecting thicker hiking socks for boots. Best used with walking shoes and for less demanding treks.
