This air purifier has made a noticiable difference in my home. I have bad allergies and this unit has helped tremendously. I keep it on Auto while I’m home and let it do it’s thing. Easy instructions and set up. Highly recommend

Looks much better in the room and automatic feature works great
We live in a old house without a modern HVAC and ducting system where we can install an integrated filtration system so we have been looking for a standalone unit that that works for large spaces. This air purifier from carrier is a great option.First, it looks great in the room and doesn't look like an appliance. It takes air from 360° around the base through slits that ring the sides of the unit, and exhausts through the top. To me this makes so much more sense than the ones that intake from the back (that's usually facing the wall) and then exhausts a powerful jet in one direction into the room. With this design, I have the unit sitting in the opening between the living room and dinning room to make the most of the large spaces this filter can accommodate. The function is very simple. Most of the time I keep it on automatic mode and it will adjust the fan speed based on the air quality. The sensor is so accurate, when I sear something in the kitchen (that is adjoining the dining room) the filter almost always starts ramping up. It does this even before anything gets smoky in the house! There is a small display and color LED that easily tells you the air quality and the mode/speed. If you don't need to know, you can turn the display completely off too.I think this is a great filter that does a great job, best of all, it down't look as much like a filter/fan appliance sitting in your room

An Excellent Air Purifier… With A Costly Replacement Filter
I ordered this air purifier to put in our great room. We run it 24 hours a day in “auto” mode, and the air quality does seem a bit better. We are quite pleased with this air purifier so far. Now, 24 hours a day may seem like a lot, but in auto mode the purifier actively monitors the air quality and adjusts the fan speed accordingly. Consequently, the vast majority of the time the fan runs at a very low speed. Which is great because not only does the fan running at a low speed save electricity, it also keeps the fan noise level to a minimum. We’ve had this air purifier for about ten days now, so I decided to take a quick look at the filter cartridge. And to be honest, it still looks really clean. However, to be fair, it’s only been ten days. And I pretty much expected it to be pretty clean because I think the air in our house is generally pretty decent. However, with that said, our two dogs shed quite a bit so the filter cartridge did have some dog hair on it, and it did have a bit of visible dust in the pleats. So, it definitely works. Now, we’ve never had any breathing or allergy issues, so I don’t want to say that this air purifier has helped us breathe better/easier. That would definitely be an overstatement. However, the air quality does *seem* better. And for two reasons, better/cleaner air is the only thing we want from this air purifier. The first reason is simply that everyone wants to breathe good, clean air. The second reason is that we just want less dust floating around and settling on everything. We can dust things off and there will be a noticeable amount of dust on things a week later. I am confident that this air purifier will greatly help out with that problem.Lastly, one of the reasons I chose to order this particular air purifier is because Carrier says the filter will last up to a year. I don’t want to have to replace a filter every few months. However, with that said, when I do need to replace the filter cartridge, it looks like it will cost me more than $100, so I am definitely not thrilled about that. That just seems overly/unnecessarily expensive. But, with that said, I think this is a really good air purifier overall. Consequently, if you’re looking for a new air purifier, I think this one is a good/solid choice. My one and only complaint about it is the cost of the replacement filter cartridge. But I knew the cost going in. So, if you can make peace with the replacement cost of the filter cartridge, I think you will be very happy with this air purifier. If you have any questions about this Carrier air purifier, please feel free to ask, and I'll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.

Really lightweight for the size, no WIFI function
My home is 1800 sq ft. This purifier is rated at 426 sq ft. I'm not going to purchase 4 air purifiers for my home - they are too big. I do like that this purifier is pretty light. I can carry it up and down stairs just fine as a 5'8" women with non-extraordinary muscles. I've been alternating rooms it's in. I understand it's going to be most effective turned on all the time in one room and if I had asthma or something I might do that but I'm not and I won't. I'm excited to put it out in our living area when my friend who is allergic to cats comes over and see if it helps her at all. That probably won't be for awhile though otherwise I'd wait to review. As far as the rating for this machine, I looked up the AHAM scale for CADR that is listed on the side. A lot of air purifiers use the CADR system but it doesn't like the scale so I'll share it here. Tobacco smoke is 10-450 CADR, Dust is 10-400 CADR and Pollen is 25-450 CADR. So this machine is in the middle for dust and tobacco smoke and upper quarter for pollen. If you're getting a purifier for a specific purpose these numbers will be helpful so I'm glad they're pretty standardized for air purifiers. The interface is nice and clean. the color around the display shows how clean the air is at the time. Blue means its the cleanest, then its green, yellow and then red I think. I've only ever seen it be blue or green. It was interesting, I had it running in one room, opened the front door and the breeze coming in changed it to green. I'm assuming that's because it's spring and there was pollen coming in from the air outside. The display can also lay flat or be tilted up so that you can see it from a distance. Touching the LED button makes both the colored ring and the fan speed display go dark so you can run it in a dark room and it doesn't disturb your sleep which is nice. You'll also notice the interface has a wifi button. The manual says some models have it and some don't. That wasn't very helpful but after messing with it a lot, it's clear this one doesn't have any wifi functionality. That's fine, I didn't expect it to but I thought it was worth checking since it had a button. This is probably normal for air purifiers but there is a warning that says not to sit within 8 inches (or maybe 6 I'm not sure) of the machine because of radiation. So keep that in mind when considering placement I guess and don't let your pets cuddle it while it's on.
