When my garden fountain pump failed I tried to find a similar one with a built in foam filter, as our water feature collects a lot of leaves, and we get a lot of algae growth. I usually had to clean out the filter at least twice a month during the summer, which wasn't pleasant due to the location and access to the pump. I couldn't find a similar pump but saw this filter bag to enclose a pump to keep out debris. It is fantastic. Keeps out the larger trash and as it has a very large surface area, even if it's half covered with leaf debris, there is plenty of open area that the pump doesn't starve for water at the inlet. I wish I had known about these earlier and they would have save me a lot of headache even with the old pump that had a suction filter. Simple and works so well.

Works pretty good. Definitely keeps my pump from getting clogged with debris so fast. It's a little too small for my filter, but I managed to make it work. Seems pretty durable.

So far two pond pumps have run four weeks without having to take the pumps out and clean them, normally that's been a weekly chore but not now. The cinch feature is perfect and works well.

I have been cleaning my pond pump by hand for years. Now that I have finally purchased these I will never go back. It is a no-brainer. The fit was great and the flow is now more consistent. The water stays cleaner when the pump is not clogged. Netting is made of good string.
