I like this product and would recommend it to other, with a few disclaimers.Pros:-Attaches easily to the car seatbelt, and can be moved to any seatbelt or to another car very easily.-Works with any harness or device you choose. I like this because it allowed me to purchase a very nicely padded, soft harness for my puppy that I know will be comfortable for her, plus I will not have to buy an entirely new seatbelt system if she gets bigger. (Bonus: This also means that if she is already wearing a training or walking harness, we can simply attach the seatbelt hook to that, rather than having to change her in and out of various contraptions just to go in the car.)-Between the velcro closure for the seatbelt strap and the adjustable connector piece with double hooks, this is very customizable.-I feel like the puppy is more contained and safer wearing this than she would be just wandering freely in the back seat. Plus, if there is a sudden stop or jolt, the seatbelt kicks in the same way it would with a person, thus keeping her from being thrown all over the vehicle. However, with normal movement, the dog can jump down from the seat, run back and forth from window to window, etc.Cons:-This allows the dog some freedom to roam around the back seat, which is nice, but that also means that there's nothing to hold the dog back from trying to jump out the window, if you happen to have a puppy with a lot of curiousity/no sense of self-preservation. I don't want to rely on just some velcro to keep my dog from falling out of a moving car, so there's no "window surfing" for now.-In the past, I've used other seatbelt systems, and the ones that hook directly into the seatbelt fastener (i.e., they have a metal piece that fastens directly into the seatbelt buckle, rather than attaching to the seatbelt strap) seemed to be a little more tightly anchored and to control the dog a bit more. It probably depends on what you want and how much movement you want to allow your dog in the car.-If you have a dog that does not listen to you at all or is extremely determined, I would imagine they could probably outsmart this thing and find a way to run around most of the car even while wearing the seatbelt.So, overall, the product does what it claims, and seems to be a quality item, but I don't feel 100% secure with it, especially in terms of open windows. It's a good balance between restraining the dog and allowing some movement otherwise, though.

I received this item today and upon opening the shipping box, immediately took it and my dog for a test drive. I love it so much that I had to write a review ASAP!The quality of the product is really surprising, especially considering that other pet seat belt configurations cost much more than this item. The clips are really heavy and swivel around completely, so the strap doesn't ever get twisted.This could not have been any easier to install and attach to my dog's harness. Prior to using this item, I relied on a six foot static leash wrapped around the headrest and then clipped to my dog's harness to keep her in the passenger seat, rather than in my lap while driving. This is a BIG improvement from that!The only reason I am deducting a star from the rating is because I wish there was some way to keep the seat belt wrap from sliding down the seatbelt...to keep it from sliding down the length of the seatbelt, you have to wrap the Velcro realllllly tight and then the D-ring does not perfectly match up with the access hole. It's not too much of a problem, really, but if you're like me and plan on using this item when your dog is in a "booster seat" or similar product, the connector can slide down and get stuck between the booster seat and the backrest of the car seat. Not too much of an inconvenience, however, so I still LOVE the product and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safer way to travel with their pet!!

I have three Pembroke Welsh corgis which are all show dogs. I need to travel with them frequently. My car only accommodates one full size crate and I needed to have some sort of restraint system which would keep the other two dogs safe. This seat belt device is an excellent solution. It is very well constructed and so easy to use. As the description points out, the harness is not included. I found step-in harnesses through Amazon. When used together (harness and seat belt restraint) it works beautifully. Both the step-in harness and the seat belt restraint can be adjusted. I found that attaching the seat belt restraint to the waist belt part of the seat belt instead of the harness strap worked better. The dogs are completely comfortable. They can easily change positions (sit up, lie down) and although no dog car restraint system is completely 100% safe, this comes very close to it. Highly recommended.

This is the 2nd time I've ordered this. Bought it initially for my husbands convertable (for the dog not my husband). It worked so well that when we adopted our 2nd puppy, I immediatly ordered one for my car. It makes car ride more managable with out the puppy trying to climb in my lap. It is also much safer incase of an accident and/or stopping short. Great quality, he has not been able to chew through it despite his attempts. But we do keep a close eye on him. He is not left in the car unsupervised. I think given a enough time he could get through it. So definitley keep an eye on them if you have a chewer like mine (again the puppy not the husband).

this is the best seatbelt for my dog... and I have tried others! it is so easy to attach, nothing difficult or pieces to figure out where goes where. if you have a small medium dog it allows the dog to go so far as to look out the windows or lie down on the console between the front seats. it is secure and I love it. I attach it in a second to my pups harness and that's it. my dog is secure but can move enough to be able to lie down or move around a bit. You can adjust the distance you want the dog to go. excellent product!

This product is perfect for holding my dog in the rear seat of our vehicle... he is able to lie down, sit up and spread out while still being held secure on the seat ... solved my problem of having him jump out of the car when the doors opened while putting items in....it is easy to use and affordable, attaches to any collar or harness...I would highly recommend it to my friends....

So easy to get the dogs safely hooked in and super easy to get them out at the other end while keeping them secure while we travel. My only complaint is that I can't make the strap a little shorter for my smaller dog but that's really neither here nor there.

This worked fine, though the attachment is very long and if you're actually in an accident, your dog is going to fly pretty far before it reaches the end. Replaced it eventually with a crash tested dog seatbelt but this worked fine for the time I used it.

the dogs still have some room to move around but they can't jump to the front seat anymore. Makes car rides much more pet friendly.
