capillary rod does not work
I'm in three test strips and have not been able to get the meter to work. The problem is that the capillary rod that is suppossed to take a drop of blood from the finger to the test strip does not work. Following the directions precisely, the blood in the capillary rod does not transfer onto the test stip with enough blood to fill to test strip and the meter times out with an error or LO indication. That's enough holes in my fingers for one day!

Excellent product period after the set up
This machine was a little hard to set up at 1st,you have really got to take time out to set it up,the down side is only 25 strips and they are 25$ and up,also you have got to make sure you get enough blood on the strip or it will not work correctly, but the numbers were excellent and the same as my doctors numbers,so great product to me

Not all strips are available; know before you buy
I think the product itself is probably ok. There's a newer version the L7 that costs more but seems to have more capability. I did not have the device long enough to determine accuracy because I returned it. Why? The device displays total cholesterol, HDL, and Triglycerides. The documentation shows the ability to test these three as well as getting a calculated LDL. However, the HDL test strips were not included in the kit and they were not available for purchase. Until you get the kit and open it, it's difficult to know what capabilities it actually has and the product description avoids indicating HDL testing despite it appearing on the device itself. I reached out to customer service and they indicated that the HDL (and therefore LDL) strips are no longer available. This rendered the product moot for me. I was offered an upgrade, but even the upgrade cost was more than this device (L5) and kit together. I decided to return the product. Frustrating because it probably can't be used again by anyone else and some better clarity on the product description would have saved time and money and possibly steered me toward the L7 in the first place. So if you are ok with just total cholesterol and triglycerides, this product will at least test those. If you need HDL / LDL, then look at the L7 or other products. Check the price on the L7 and the test strips for the L7 to make sure it meets your budget needs long term.

It works and requires very little blood
I wanted to monitor lipids once a month. it comes with collectors that require 5ul of blood for TC or trypglycerides. You need a separate sample foreach Most of the devices that read TC, Try, and HDL require a single 40ul ( it's probably easier to be accurate with a larger sample. The Lab Blood sample are much larger 2 - 4 ml)The one downside I have is trouble collecting even the smaller samples 5ul. They do not give suggestions on ways to increase the size of the blood drop needed. This device was tested by the FDA and they concluded it was accurate.

Unreliable and hard to use
For context, my wife is a trained nurse and I have a biochemistry degree. We both know very well how to collect blood and run tests. That said, this device never worked reliably for us.Collecting the right amount of blood has been hit or miss with the entire 25 count capillary set. We got a little better over time, but never to the point that we felt “ok, this just works “.I bought the unit to monitor my cholesterol. It looked like I was getting progressively better and reaching 150 mg/dl. Because the value clearly and repeatably dropped I trusted the trend, even if not the absolute value. Then I had my annual checkup and cholesterol was at 248 mg/dl compared to last years 233. I had made no progress at all, but the Curo unit made me think I was on the right track.Worse still, my triglycerides came back at 247 mg/dl from the lab. So out of curiosity I measured triglycerides at home within 2h of the lab test. The Curo unit showed 338 mg/dl. Useless! So don’t waste your money, you cannot get reliable results to track your health with this unit and its test strips.

Not Worth It
The readings are fairly accurate, if you can even get a reading. The capillary rods are a disaster. Out of a bottle of ten strips maybe 2 capillary rods get the blood onto the strip.I contacted the manufacturer, and he told me to run my finger under warm/hot water before using the lancet., giving me some explanation that some blood clots fast. I use my CardioChek meter and never have this problem and I get a reading every time. But I did what he suggested and still I got through the entire 10 strips and rods and still average about 2 readings a bottle.Another strike against this, is they do not sell the capillary rods separately. You have to buy the strips to get capillary rods. The meter has the capability of giving HDL results, but you can only buy those strips in Europe, not the USA.If the company improves their capillary rods, I believe this would be a decent product. But as it is now it is almost useless.
