Of course, I should have read the note saying NOT to do that. Most of the replacement bottles on Amazon do not allow returns, so I was afraid to order one, in case it wouldn't work in my machine. However, this one allowed returns, so even though it was more expensive, I felt I would not be out the money if it didn't fit. It does fit, perfectly, and other than the SodaStream logo on the bottle, looks pretty much just like the original bottle.
